@@MtgReviewsFromMyCar The drums and the rhythm guitar really do clash with the bass in a lot of these tracks, especially during the guitar solos where they really delve into the lower octaves. Also, compressors and EQ's in 2024 are just far superior at isolating the low-mid ends of bass nowadays.

This song is nothing but power from everyone in the band, but the bass has always come off as the driving star of the show the whole time. The right hand gets DEVASTATED with fatigue if you're not conditioned enough and attempting the whole song. Like, by the solo section the whole hand is jelly AND has to play the most complicated, rapid picking/plucking/whatever in the whole song. John Myung and his forearms made of rebar, I swear hahaha

@gabrielwalker44119 ай бұрын
Yeah I think it’s hard for everyone to play live but it’s harder for the bass than guitar because of the very wide neck on the six string so I mean it’s hard for everybody and John M can still play this song every night for a whole entire tour so he’s pretty scary lol ❤
@coltonpugh96699 ай бұрын
@@gabrielwalker4411 Absolutely agreed. This song is just difficult all across the board. I play bass myself and learned this song, which was easily among the most difficult songs I have ever learned. Although, from my personal experience with it on bass, I would still say it is much more difficult for keys and.guitar. Those sweeping arpeggios are fucking mind melting on guitar.

Beyond impressed brother!! Perfection! One question, 3 finger triplets, did JM play it that way on the record? Or does he play 2 finger triplets like Harris? (I wasn't sure on this song) I love your cover, Awesome work!
@coltonpugh9669 Жыл бұрын
Before I answer your question, I have to point out that what you are referring to as a triplet is in fact, not a triplet. The sound that Maiden became known for is the gallop. Which is still a bunch of three note sequences, but a triplet is not the same thing as a gallop. With that out of the way, Myung uses three fingers to play this. There is a live video on here that shows a lot of him on stage and he is certainly using his ring finger as well as index and middle.
