Comparing two Depp films, the Pirates series made the exact same mistake that Charlie & the Chocolate Factory did: They put the story focus on the "interesting mystery man," instead of the analog for the audience observing this character. They made it too much about Willy Wonka and not enough about Charlie, and not only does that risk overexposure but that also makes the whole package feel a lot more impersonal.
@disneylandw5 жыл бұрын
Disney's The Lone Ranger made the fatal mistake of thinking Tonto was a "weird" character and the center of the story NOT the Ranger. Even if take out the fact that the filmmakers basically didn't seem to understand one basic thing about Reidd as the Lone Ranger, he was played as second fiddle to Tonto. Simply because it was Johnny Depp and a really bizarre comical twist to a pulp superhero who otherwise DIDN'T need to have a movie with the focus on the weird tired POTC stuff. Or Depp having the ego to think he would play Tonto as someone "weird" and strange just like Sparrow(maybe that was the biggest fault with that movie was the odd tone they wanted) And clearly it backfired on them...hopefully we will an actual good Lone Ranger movie without a bizarre POTC twist

I think the rule is that Will can't leave the land of the dead. That's why Davy Jones was all octopussy. He wasn't ferrying the souls because he wasn't even on the other side! Now, cut to the end credits scene of AT WORLD'S END: It's ten years later, and Will returns for his one day on land, with no barnacles. His son looks roughly the same age here as he does in the beginning of DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES. I think when Henry drowned himself, Will sensed him, and left the land of the dead to rescue him, but in turn, got a further curse. His barnacles are not as extreme as Davy Jones because this was the first time breaking the rules. That's what I think anyway.

I think Javier Bardem would have pulled a better Gastón look than Luke Evans. Also, Salazar's demise in the film was framed and shot as Gastón's should have (falling into the camera, focus on his face and then seeing him from avobe. Simple yet spectacular and satisfying), instead of how Gaston's death was handled in the 2017 live-action version (bridge cracks, silly split-second duck-face, slow-mo start to the fall, out-of-focus darkened fall from bellow without a clear look at his face, and finally he is lost in the mist and the film plays a "thud" sound).

WHY THE HELL are they still trying to make Sparrow a thing at this time.....he's not funny anymore and boring(Depp don't want to be in this film) God what was so the point of forcing him into FANTASMIC with a shrieking female(maybe Carina?)and it still DOESN'T fit? Again what is Disney's point with "promoting" Sparrow if Depp is toxic and this "main character" become a drunk moron that not even a 6th film would save if any....think god for a reboot with the Redhead replacing this godless "thing" shell of a character from that first good film.

I cqn tell how does it look like since I go to this park every year, if you want.
@TonyGoldmark7 жыл бұрын
I'd like to, but I have no idea if I'll ever be able.
@alexrexaros98377 жыл бұрын
Oh. What a shame :( I can give you an quick description if you want. Just bare in mind that this park was never directly managed by the Disney Company, every single imagineer over there where wrking on what they wanted to do and not what Disney commended. Or at least, The Disney company had a tiny influence on the park. Many of the rides there are very different from the other ones, like Space Mountain, which is not Star Wars themed now. From the very beginning of the park, this ride (and the full section dedicated to Sci-Fi) is inspired by Jules Verne's classic Sci-Fi book, very steampukian with a little french touch. So the atmosphere of Discovery land (Where SM is located) is very unique compared to the USA Sci-Fi section. It also have inversions in this. Pirates of the Carribean is a classic in the park. Mostly considered as legendary for the park fans. Even tho, I wish they could upgrade it a bit, like at least a Jack Sparrow animatronic. The ride still the same since the park's opening. It's one of the rides that follow the spirits of the american rides. PS: The imagineer for this ride created a very popular pirate restaurant in Montpellier, which follow the ride's spirit, like a lot ! For the Haunted Mansion, it's one of the greatest of the all of them in my opinion. Phantom Manor is the most mature ghost ride of the bunch. Nothing's funny, there's gore (Yep, there is a horse and a cat cadaver in the caves and a little bit of flesh are on the skeletons at the head, gosh, there's even a ghost that literally pull his head off !) and the story is way tragic. Hell, the elevator in the beginning show us a hanged man ! Even tho, most the story have to be guessed by the riders. Speaking of riders... The Indiana Jones ride is drasticly different from the USA one. It's litteraly a coaster, a very rare type of ride in Disney park ! Not much to say about this one, just that the ride is mostly outside, have a looping, and was rolling backwards for little bit of time. Big Thunder Mountain is no different. Maybe the only minor difference is that the ride is located on a island, and the train passes, not over but under a river to get there ! It's a small world is way more detailed than any other, according to any POVs I've seen. Then we have Walt Disney Studio, in there we have the Rock'n'Roller coaster, which is even more savage, the ride look like a prison a this point ! There are a lot of loops and smoke in there. Oh and the music is loud as fuck. There is also the only and mighty Crush Coaster, based on Pixar's Finding Nemo. The entire ride is based on the turtle's part of the film. The only thing I can say, is that this ride kick ass. We have Ratatouille (Logic, Disneyland PARIS), which is just a 3D ghost train. Kind overrated to be honest. Like the imagineer have promised ther would a shit ton of fire and... Nothing. Also, the park have a Armageddon ride. Yep, a Micheal Bay ride in a Disney park. Kinda lame to be honest. But the concept is cool as hell. Also, we're probably the only park that will keep Captain EO forever. Sorry mate. There's also Disney Village.. but this one is more for shopping an eating than riding... You know, french people love to spent money on Disney things. Makes them feel more "cool". And I think that's it. You should really go there, it would probably be a unique experience for somebody that used to go in american parks ! I wonder what do you think of all of this...
