Idina and Sutton were so honest, real and open as always, the biggest stars are always the most modest and real of them all.

I thought it was interesting when they talked about entrance applause. Because almost all of these lovely actresses agree that in a way it's annoying & uncomfortable because they can't react to it in character & it can interfere with the show- which I completely understand. But, I loved how Idina said that she likes it because "[she's] work[ed] [her] ass off... and have people know who [she is]" which is so genuine & real & I absolutely loved it.

Now these are role models!, for all young people, girls and boys, to look up to. I love that nowadays most people have heard of Idina Menzel, it makes me so happy, but ALL of these amazing and brilliant women deserve more recognition. These are the women that young girls should aspire to be, despite my love for Kesha, Miley, Katy, and the like, those performers can't even compare to the class and grace of these women. These are the ones that they should cheer and scream for. Long live the Queens of Broadway!

the opening applause is definitely asked for in If/Then she comes on stage and says "hey, its me" and then pauses because the theatre erupts in applause. I like when they build it in.

As much as I love the close up shots, I half wish they would've shown the whole table most of the time so you could see reactions to what others are saying more. For example, at 18:25 when Kelli says that sweet thing about Jessie, I would've loved to see their faces when those comments were made as neither is on camera at that time. I wish they did more of these roundtable interviews as they are lovely to watch/listen to from such an incredible talented group of individuals.

I'm so glad this was made - it's wonderful to see Broadway getting recognition. My only complaint would be that not every best actress nominee was there - maybe it was because of scheduling? But if it was because they had the women on most likely to win, that doesn't seem fair at all - especially because neither Tyne nor Latoya even ended up taking home the Tony. Does anyone know why they would not include all of the best actress nominees?
@gracepeterson993110 жыл бұрын
LaTanya***, excuse me, my phone autocorrected
@emmabeckett64519 жыл бұрын
Grace Peterson I agree with AlcinoustheXIIth, it was most likely due to scheduling conflicts. And as for having the women on most likely to win- Audra McDonald was nominated (later won) and wasn't here. Most people thought she would win in her category because she's only ever lost once. Which also makes her legendary. It was not about that- it was just who could or couldn't make it. Or it could have been- in part- that this is the first time they did this format, so they're testing the waters & didn't want too many actress because maybe they felt like they couldn't truly get to them for answers.

I wish all the roundtables for women were more similar to this, because most of the other ones, like all women interviews leads to their roles as tabloid fodder and nurturer gatherers often that it becomes an annoyance. I am not against women discussion family, motherhood, and pop-cult topics or beauty but it becomes 40% or more of the interviews and I don't get to hear about the craft or business or repertoire of their actual work. Well done.

I hate how the interviewer at the beginning pretty much said "even though we usually talk about hollywood and film, we are a well rounded show and we can talk about theatre too!"
@gracepeterson993110 жыл бұрын
I mean the company is called The Hollywood Reporter, he's basically saying "yes, some of you may complain or be confused that this isn't hollywood but these are still amazing dignified, actresses and we should treat this award show like any other." And I think that's great!
