I guess the issue here really is, imagine Dr Youn made a video where a man had surgery to please his wife, so he slaps her. He would be fired without investigation, and he'd be fully cancelled on the internet. Despite this, the jokes would be one in the same and deserve equal responses. I don't agree with reporting him. The video was unfunny, but not offensive. But it is what it is. "Misandry" is as real as "Misogyny" and he shouldn't really have made the video where he fake-slaps a fake-man if he would never do it about a woman.

If that is how you truly feel then you are actually legitimizing the complaint. What if the husband was joking? I know the whole thing is a parody but there's always a race to the bottom with women's comments about men being invariably abusive in these instances. Factually though, American women absolutely get obese when pregnant and keep it all on after birth for the rest of their lives. Doctors support this unhealthy body positivity. In Japan a doctor would chastise a woman for gaining the relative amount of body weight as American women do.

I would say the video is a bit unfunny yet also not serious enough about a serious subject. People like the husband mentioned in the video need a slap of sense but not a literal slap at least by a doctor (I know it's a joke but some people don't care nowadays) I somewhat doubt the ethics department like the whole idea of this sort of tiktok based in a patient care environment (even if it's fake) They will be over sensitive to a matter like this because I doubt they care much about the context (I hope I am wrong though). Many people have got warned/reprimanded or even fired for jokes or actions that most think are appropriate I would say.

@ndawn9019 күн бұрын
He didn't, though, because he made the complaint in the first place! Here's what he would have had to do to file the complaint in the first place: - Track down Dr Youn's name (because he wasn't a follower, he just randomly came across the video via the algorithm, so he didn't even know who Dr Youn was) - Find out that Dr Youn is a plastic surgeon - Find out what medical organizations Dr Youn is a member of - And then file the complaint, which I imagine involved filling out a form of some kind and probably also sending the TikTok video That's a lot of opportunities to take a step back and think, "Why am I doing this? What am I hoping to accomplish here?" Like, what did he expect to happen? Why expend all of that effort if he wasn't hoping that it would ultimately result in Dr Youn getting into some kind of trouble? Who files an ethics complaint thinking that it's just going to get dismissed? What is the point of that? He either didn't understand the gravity of his actions when he filed the complaint (which I doubt), or he fully understood what he was doing, but now that he's not throwing an angry tantrum he's realizing what a pathetic move he pulled and is trying to backpedal. I will give him some credit for at least trying, but this is really the bare minimum. Actually, the bare minimum would have been to use his words and communicate to Dr Youn directly or go to therapy and talk about his problems instead of trying to undermine a stranger's entire career and livelihood over a freaking TikTok video!

I'm sorry you're going through this. You are not only an excellent physician, you have so much integrity and you care deeply about your patients (I've never consulted with you, but your concern for your patients is apparent in your videos). You are a true role model and a man young men and women can aspire to emulate. I'm sure the man who lodged the complaint never dreamed it would go this far and he acted out of anger. The fact that he called you to apologize and tried to make it right speaks highly of him. I had a wonderful experience with a "plastic" surgeon. I fell down some stairs at our home and was significantly injured. I had a rather large laceration (gash) on my face and the doctor at the emergency room called a plastic surgeon who came in and stitched my face. I was left with a minimal scar that looks like a natural line on my face. Of course, I see it every time I look in the mirror, but the important thing is that no one else even notices it--I don't look like I have a scar on my face. Had this man not come in late at night and taken care of my face, the scar could have been significant. So I say bravo for plastic surgeons like Dr. Youn and the doctor who "saved my face"!
