I was prescribed pain pills for back pain as well in 2016. That was the beginning of a downward spiral for me that I just pulled myself out of. I took suboxone after that for years. I decided it was killing me, it literally turned me into an emotionless zombie. Today actually make 15 days without any opioids.

At 2:04:34 - I just made an impressive logical jump. I just realized that among other things, "Ashes" is about several things. He's describing a comeback from a bout of alcoholism, and his reference to God - besides a simple religious declaration - is part of the 12 Step Program: recognizing the higher power. He's connecting himself to the older bands that were tremendously successful in their days, and he's making a comeback. With all of these things and images in play, and doing a phenomenal job with the rhymes and flow, and everything you are pointing out. Was addicted to OC for yrs, then spent another 5 yrs “recovering”on Suboxone. Been clean for about 4 yrs now but do not believe the Dr’s when they say “take it as prescribed and you won’t hurt”. They want to keep you addicted, there is no money in cured on the treating. Some still want to help but don’t fall into the “maintenance” loop most want you to stay in. Congrats Knox keep it up!

damn to be very honest i watch all of your videos and your breakdowns are so INCREDIBLY good sometimes it feels like you are a clone/double of Tom MacDonald not In the way of you personally and your own raps but just the incredibly well thought out breakdowns as if you could like see into toms brain and see what he's thinking.
