'Too Fat To Fly' Frenchman Kevin Chenais Banned From Eurostar

A Frenchman stranded in the US because he was deemed too heavy to fly was finally allowed on a plane to Britain - only to be refused travel home by the Eurostar cross-channel train.
Kevin Chenais, 22, who weighs 32 stone (230kg), arrived at Heathrow Airport with his parents after Virgin Atlantic agreed to fly him back from New York.

@@inzoria7727 that's basic physics. The luggage and animal crates are arranged in the cargo hold in a relative balance of small increments. If there's one massive concentration of weight in one area then it has to be in the center or balanced by a comparable concentration.

How are other people's lives at risk when they clearly have luggage and animals that weigh more than him. The plane is not going to exceed it's weight limit because he got on ..😑 they don't have a coach seat that fits his body type and they refuse to be kind enough to put him in a spacious 1st class seat to accommodate his life problems. Meanwhile I'm sue there were plenty of empty 1st class seats. Isn't a ferry's weight limit thousands less than a plane? Do they make seats for his body type ?

It's not really discrimination, it's more of a safety risk. How are people supposed to evacuate a plane in an emergency in 90 seconds with such an obstruction? Same goes with ferry or train.

It could even be a source of motivation. Challenging morbid obesity is difficult but not impossible after all. But once people die they can't return to life. Plane companies want to prevent a crash and other accidents. They could be sued because they let it happen. And how could he evacuate if he can't fit? He would disturb other people evacuation too. The same thing applies for the boat. What is unfair is wanting to endanger him and other people's lifes.

There are metabolic disorders that can make people that fat and make it hard to lose weight, even when they barely eat anything. Remember, not every fat person eats all the time.😥

PCOS and thyroid problems really only account for about 10-20lbs... and getting medicated for those issues will completely fix the issue. They dont make someone who should be a healthy weight morbidly obese. The fact is, most of the western world is fat. The vast, vast, vast majority of these fat people eat too much. Actually, all of them do, because again, metabolic issues usually only account for about 10-20lbs.

Flight attendant gets on the speaker ( everyone get in a seat this is serious, take any seat. 45 minutes of the worst turbulence ever on a 6 hour flight. Hed jet lag for three days.

I dont have a ton of sympathy for most emmensly fat people either most of the time but in a few cases including what sounds like this man, hormone or other similar health problems are the main factor in their obesity and that is not their fault.

Problems like that only account for about 10-20lbs. And, because fat cells secrete estrogen, being overweight/obese can cause those hormone problems, and losing weight will alleviate the disorder pretty much completely, if not completely.
