Wow Tara - I've watched so many of your videos throughout my scholarly journey and this one stood out. I had to listen twice to begin to absorb so many of the gems. First I did not realize Steve passed on - condolences. Second, this episode only had two of what I consider your trademark chuckle😢. These scenarios must have been frustrating to even remember and walk through again. Thank you for sharing. In addition to the frustrating and seemingly insurmountable cultural odds that are a turn off to junior scholars... it is heartbreaking to think that someone of your stature, background, and accomplishments could be treated with such little deference by other top level "peers". Of all the questions I want to ask, for fear of this being a lengthy post I will leave it at one: if the academic zeitgeist is embracing the Instagram version of self based on H-score (with filters), then are there still strongholds of academic purity left? If so, should junior researchers invest time in seeking those out or do you recommend that we focus on building our own networks and strongholds moving into the future?
