No, you are not. I am an instrument player, clarinet to be specific. 3rd and 2nd chair clarinet players, along with 3rd and 2nd chair trumpet players play backup/harmony parts for the first 2-4 years of their high school careers. Because of this, I learned very good pitch. I am a natural bass singer, but I can reach up into the high end of the 4th octave, albeit in falsetto. I attribute this to my high school band years. I have never had any formal voice training, but I can sing harmony behind almost anybody, but I tend to sing the major 2nd, not sure why, I just do.

I reckon the lyrical + musical genius of Leppard Steven Maynard "The Riffmaster" Clark would have been impressed. Steve was 'into' alternative music, he remains the architect of this and so many other Leppard songs. Really cool touch with Sav's 'Hamer' bass. If anyone wants to see arguably 'the' most brilliant version of this song live check the Denver Colorado gig, "The In The Round In Your Face Tour 88/89. Steve just blew the roof off the stadium as he dazzled.

Thanks for the nice comment! Legend has it this specific Hamer was used on the majority of the hysteria recording sessions. Mutt came into possession of it and sold it to a luthier here in Ky. We have a short video up detailing all of it.

the mix on this is just insane, all the tones and levels just melt together and that Bass is a little hot, just the way I like it. The singer is perfect. Joe Elliot is not an easy guy to cover well. The Harmonies really push this over the top. My favorite cover. You all rock

I disagree about the bass. Lange is a VERY bass forward producer. The tone on the bass is however not supported by the keyboard bass part that gave it definition in the original.

Def Leppard's "On Through the Night" was the first LP I purchased from money I'd earned cutting grass in the summer of 1980. By time this song and "Pyromania" was released in 83, I was a Junior in high school, had a part-time job at Murphy's department store, a 66 Ford pickup that me and a buddy installed new speakers and a cassette player in. And Pyromania was the first tape played in that stereo. And it was played till the reel wore out and tore. From an old-school Def Leppard fan... You guys did the song justice. Brought back some memories while you were at it. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely sick mix on this. You could debate for hours about the best performer on this track, but the engineering is off the chart. When you consider the variety of bands these guys cover and how they nail it every time, this is IMO easily the best cover band on youtube. And I love many others but no one can touch LLB.
