Too Many Bones: Undertow - Playthrough (Duster)

Rules error at 3:25 ish. When you upgrade Atk you don't roll a D6 you roll the number of attack dice equal to your current atk stat. If you don't roll any bones you upgrade Atk +1 else you spend the point elsewhere. (UT Manual 2.1 Page 11) For defence you do the same with defence dice but are allowed to re-roll any bones once due to there being more bones on Def dice than Atk dice. (UT Manual 2.1 Page 11)

Yes you are correct I just double checked I think I got them muddled up with another game I have been playing with dexterity and stat increases through rolls, probably a lot of Call of Cthulhu D & D 😅 thanks for clearing that up

@@manaburngaming7968 I often forget to Scout but it's always useful if available so I'd have definitely scouted at the end of day 1 as you may reveal a 5pt baddie. I do mix in the other baddies from the other games so some nasty ones you would rather not get early :). True solo your unlikely to face a 20pt so not worth revealing. Been digging into Cloudspire and it's a steeper learning curve than TMB but worth the effort yet like TMB the manual is an issue. Did you back Unbreakable?

I always forget about scouting and checking the baddie stacks I’m usually more concerned with healing and/or gaining loot. I always try and find the dragon scale card it’s my favourite 😅 How is Cloudspire? I’ve been looking into it and it looks fantastic is it as good as TMB? I haven’t backed it but I think it’s still open to order and I am very tempted. However I think I’m going to either go for another gearloc or 2 or just buy the core set and expand my collection :)

@@manaburngaming7968 CS is a different beast and definitely a bit harder to learn and needs some time investment including videos and online checking of rules. I would watch some playthroughs of the solo to see if it's something you would enjoy. It's certainly more mentally taxing sometimes than TMB and even easier to make mistakes so warrants some sequence tracking to keep you right. Unbreakable is an unknown currently but based on their experience it should be good. Some minor rules differences between UT and Base and I personally play more Base than UT... if your tired of the Tyrants and encounter cards then Base adds 7 Tyrants, 4 Gears, 55 baddies etc so a nice chunk of content. My own personal taste is i'm not too keen on Splice and Dice as building my own random Tyrant doesn't appeal to me as they are random hence probably unbalanced. Still I've not played it much for my opinion to be worth listening to nor have i played the mini games included yet. The new core box later this year is much reduced in size so maybe worth waiting for? check out CTG KZbin for a video of the new core.

There is a lot of content for TMB and I’m a little overwhelmed over what to get. I have seen the new slim version of the core game I will get it only if it’s cheaper though 😅 Aside from the big box expansions and obviously extra gearlocs are there any other expansions I should look out for? I won’t be getting them just yet I think i want focus on more gearlocs and/or the core set

This is such a temptation. I love almost everything I see in this game but even a stand-alone like this is a serious hit to the budget. If, as I suspect, I would get hooked the resultant financial rabbit hole is deep enough to drive an used car into. Thanks for the playthru.

It is a heavy cost I will admit, in my review it’s one of my very few negative points. The production value and content, as you can see, is worth it though. I used a PayPal pay in 3 plan it doesn’t feel so bad 😂 I am tempted to start to fall down that rabbit hole and buy more content but I am still having a lot of fun with just the box, plenty of content to keep me going. Thanks for a quick ad dirty playthrough! Undertow looks amazing. Duster looks like a lot of fun. I only have the base game for now, but I plan on getting my hands on more stuff :)

That’s like me, I only own undertow but plan on getting more content real soon, can’t wait! I’ve also filmed a Playthrough video with Stanza, I was put off because she’s very hard to use but I’ve got the hang of her now. Thank for watching!
