Pleco breeding sounds great but most plecos take a couple of years to grow to adult and its not easy great shipments

Would breed as many fish you can yourself to save on shipping costs would be millions saved in long run . You can do like I'm doing . Outsource few animals to local people to breed them and pick up the products as they are ready . I breed angels, guppies, plecos, Oscar's mollies, all simple to breed except Oscar's as they can be very aggressive. Had them break glass tanks . . But outsourcing the breeding can be profitable for both side of the deal .

Did you get any blood work done on tank? if not you should get him tested for diabetes.. we just lost our German Shepherd to ketoacidosis from him having diabetes and us not knowing. He had all the same symptoms as your boy tank.
