People also want to push blame on Mark for confiding in Eve right after the break up, as if he immediately went to go smash her instead. He was always there for Eve after he got with Amber and now she's there for him. Maybe they will become a couple but people are being too harsh on Mark right now. She was manipulating him with his secret the entire time. She lied just as much s he did, but did even worse. She outright berated him whenever she knew full well he was saving people or nearly dying himself. She went off on him for changing into Invincible to save her and his best friend from the cyborg... Why are people forgetting that Amber was LITERALLY looking forward to getting with that college student at the party, the very same day she (temporarily) broke it off with mark? Completely agree - If Amber knew his secret for weeks and was upset enough to have had enough of it, why had she just agreed to plan a future for them together going to the same college. She even encouraged him to make the plan for them both more concrete with how he said it. Five minutes later and now she can't trust him, after she knew he saved her? The other thing to consider is that Mark's secret isn't just his own. When he tells her his secret identity he's also outing his father. The moment she would have asked - how did you get your powers he then has to either lie or be honest.

I give Robot a pass though. Lived his entire life in pain in a horribly deformed body, couldn't even breathe oxygen, has had no social or moral experience, and as the Mauler twins pointed out he has an abnormal brain, so he made a logical plan to completely change his messed up fate. If we're being honest with ourselves none of us would have declined that option. Worst case scenario, Rex would get his overblown sense of self diminished, and possibly the twins could have hurt someone after he released them from jail.

Said it before and i'm gonna say it again. Amber is in the wrong! Playing both sides of the field, Mark is wrong too but nowhere near to the extent that Amber is. Mark willingly chose to do something completely different knowing full well he had plans. Those are on him. Saving someone suddenly, different story than actively going out of your way to make overlaying plans. Amber however, claiming she knew he was a superhero knows they have to keep their identity secret, if she figured it out she should've came out and told him she knows and understood why he didn't. Meaning she feels that she's more important than him keeping his identity secret. Side note, he didn't lie about it either. He just didn't tell her. On top of that, she was mad at him claiming he abandoned them when the cyborgs attacked, she had no reason then to be mad at him or his cover story of getting the man to safety than getting help. ( Which I would like to point out was good timing as in the scene the cops showed up right after he mentioned it! ). He made a few bad choices but not enough to get the grief his Amber, William and Eve are giving him.

The cheesecake, the "job" with his father, the "earth" rock, etc. I mean you could argue some of those aren't technically straightforward lies but he's complicit in manipulating. And regardless of this "being for the greater good" or not, you're still kinda stringing someone along. Being constantly late (on top of that without a heads up) is also completely on grounds for a break-up tbh Mark wasn't ready to juggle a relationship from the start. I think Amber's rationale for her ultimatum was kinda weird but she still had grounds to break up to begin with. I mean its also a high school relationship so not everything might make sense lol

He is at fault for those and I will agree that Mark wasn't anywhere near ready for a relationship compared to Amber. The show doesn't state when she found out he was a superhero but given the time she might've figured that rock wasn't really from Earth given how he acted when he gave it to her. Job with his father goes into his secret identity; while lying I can't fault him for lies involving that. She should've understood that pressure, came forward and told him she knows. I'd go as far as to point out that most of Mark's mistakes were from inexperience, it's not a good argument and not an excuse but people have to learn. William and Eve should've stepped in as well to tell him; especially William who worked for the relationship to happen and Amber should've stopped given him chances. But yeah, it is High School and they're all that 'stupid' age we all once were.

don't forget that look she gave him on his way out of her room, though. I think she didn't mean what she said, she's just mad and is trying to cover her ass. She's been shown to be really smart, caring, and compassionate, but she's also pretty damn headstrong and doesn't seem to be fond of plans not going her way, so I think she was just desperate not to admit that she wasn't right for being so angry at mark. I anticipate a reconciliation of some sort at the beginning of season 2. Maybe not them getting back together, but at least apologizing to each other for acting the way they did.

On one hand I can feel for Amber not feeling that Mark trusts her. Not to mention him messing up all the time. On the other hand, screw her. A couple of misses here. 1. Eve didn’t just leave because of Rex, her family was also a reason. 2. Just because Nolan said something doesn’t mean it isn’t a half lie. For example him saying coworkers could have been a lie, since legit everyone else was saying the guardians were his friends. 3. You said Mark was rebounding but he really just wanted someone to talk to, like he said in the car. Also did we forget episode 3 when Eve was going to use Mark as a rebound.

One of the biggest rules for a super hero is to not give out ur identity, because of how dangerous it is. Mark and Amber aren't even together that long to say he should trust her like that. My absolute biggest pet peeve in superhero stuff is when people are upset about not being told or “being lied to” about secret identities. It’s a secret, they yell as few people as possible. Amber and mark have known each other for 5 months! Even if he is going to tell her, which he was planning on doing it takes time

honestly, I'm against Amber on this one. If it was anything else? Sure, she would have all the right to react/act like this. But we're talking about a superhero identity here. Something you should only ever tell someone if you're ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you want to live with them for the rest of your life. Being together for 6 months isn't nearly enough time to come out to a partner. On top of that. If she was so certain and already figured it out for herself, she should have just straight up confronted him about it, which could have led to a constructive conversation between them. Amber is a really cool person, a lot of the time. But I still think Mark dodged a bullet with her. She is definitely not the right person to be in a relationship with a superhero.

Amber is the shittiest, tried to sabotage Mark's friendships, acted trash over Mark choosing to save peoples lives rather than a f'n playdate with her, cheated(or at least was going to hookup with someone, then tell him to f'off), and complained about him lying when she was lying about all the above by not admitting it herself. And what she does in the next episode involves that last bit and more. (Spoiler for ep8) She compares him lying about his *secret identity* (even though she already knew and lied about not knowing) to Mark being lied to his entire life about all the horrible things intended for him and his planet AND all the morbid shit his father put him through in their fight and somehow managed to twist the logic and insinuate that what Mark did might be somehow just as bad or *worse??* like, "yeah, no, I'm being understanding of you now because you *also* were lied to" stfu... Then the season ends with her pretending like she didn't do that shit as she continues to use him (at the bare minimum) physically. Wtfff

Marks mom suspected Omni-Man from episode three. Is she in the wrong? Should she have not expected him to tell her he was going to do it from the beginning? Yet I bet you would side with Marks mom over Omni-man. It doesn't matter how important the secret is or whether the person you cared about knows or not. I didn’t see if anyone mentioned these already in the comments, but to clarify two points: 1. The cloning process doesn’t kill the original. Robot’s human body just couldn’t survive outside of that tank. And the only reason either of them would know who the clone was was because of how obviously different their bodies were. 2. I think Amber only figured it out sometime between the machine head and college incidents. My only gripe was her accusing him of leaving them if she knew by that point, but everything else was more or less valid IMO.
