i've already watched the mv a handful of times, and i'm planning on watching more, and listened to the entire album once, and i absolutely love it more and more with each listen. honestly, this feels like the blackpink song that i have been waiting for and needed in my life. i've always loved the girls and will always support them, but lovesick girls hits so differently than any of their other songs have for me. the mv made me cry when i saw the girls crying (jisoo's scene in the rain really hit me hard), and i relate to the lyrics so much that they only make me extra emotional. there's no doubt in my mind that this is my favorite blackpink song. this is the song i have been waiting for, and i don't think i'll ever stop listening to it. this and the entire album is going to be the only thing i listen to for the next week, for sure. it feels so good to be a blink right now, i love all these girls so much.

It’s true that something is special about this song, to be honest I wasn’t feeling very much about their previous songs like Kill This Love and How You Like That all, because I’m more of a emotional person. Big ol theory so take it with a grain of salt, especially since they didn’t write it themselves, but here’s my interpretation: Idols are so incredibly controlled image wise, and one of the big parts of that is their dating image. It always seems to create some sort of controversy when any idol is revealed to be dating (see Hyuna, Jennie). Blackpink is one of the biggest kpop groups in the world rn, no way their image isn’t closely monitored and controlled. They are the Lovesick Girls, where they may be still searching for love, but by the very nature of their idol status, they aren’t meant to reveal that they’re dating anyone; they’re meant to be alone. They’re familiar with this pain now; it’s all part of who they are.
