From Lost
For three years, we've celebrated a quarter century of the #RoundNoseFish'96.
In those years, we've built thousands of them.
Many of them custom ordered, designed, and shaped with specific dims and details.
Considering it's based on a 25-year-old design, it's impossible not to want to adapt, adjust, and fine-tune the curves along the way.
For friends, team riders, myself, we did just that.
A tuck here and a nip there.
A little more curve and a little less bulk.
Blend the rocker, scoop the concave, and refine the rails.
A bit shorter,
A bit wider,
And so on...
Adding multi-fin set-ups and a wing, back into the fray.
All the time, looking for more speed, more quickness, more precision, and more fun.
Over time, an almost completely new species of fish evolved.
A new species of PISCES.
The PISCES: The evolution of the performance fish subspecies, where precision is paramount.
An evolving design, focused on eliminating the stigma of arrested development in the post-modern fish genre.
Embracing all that came before and bridging the gap forward.
Turn tighter in the pocket, carve perpendicular on the face, fin-free control in the lip, and still skate freely across the flats.
The "PISCES" represents our vision of the fish as an all-around performance vehicle, effortlessly efficient as an everyday board.
Bad waves, good waves, mid-level surfers, elite pros... and every wave (and everyone) in between.
Born from the repeatedly proven #RNF96. Refinements include:
A more pulled-in nose, with added rocker up front and flatter between the feet.
Deeper concave through the mid-section and increased curve through the rail-line rocker, under the rear foot.
A mellow wing, aligned to work with the front fins.
Five fin boxes, for multiple options: Quad, Twin+2, Twin+1, straight Twin, for you loosey-goosey, cool kids, and even a Thruster, for you diehards.
Additional vee to the swallow tips and a scooped-out deckline in the tail that more closely mirrors the bottom curve and brings improved pocket control.
With these adjustments, we've created a souped-up, sleeked-down hot-rod that raises the level of precision and maneuverability, without jeopardizing speed and stability. Hell, it might even be faster.

Hi Wooly, thanks for the review! I’m almost the same size as you-1.88m and 90-91kg-and an intermediate surfer. I’m stepping down from a 7'2" Chilli Mid Strength (50L) and already own a 6'2" Pyzel Phantom XL (37,2L), which feels a bit too overwhelming for me. What size would you recommend for the pisces? I’m considering something between 6'2" and 6'4". I’d love a daily driver that’s fun and versatile-perfect for small to head-high waves, mostly at beach breaks but also for the occasional point break when it’s pumping. Or would you recommend a different board altogether? I recently came across the idea that rails can become too bulky, especially when bigger surfers try to size their boards to match their height and end up over-voluming them. But I'm just not good enough to surf low volume boards. Sorry maybe a bit confusing :D Thanks a lot!
@WoolyTV
@WoolyTV 5 күн бұрын
@@decodedbyNoah ok if the Phantom is overwhelming then I would shoot for somewhere in the middle between that and the Mid Strength. 6’4” or 6’6”. Even the 6’6” will give you a completely different feel to you Mid 🙏🤙

Thanks Wooly, How would you compare it to the JS Sub Xero for Perth/WA beachies? Is it fair to assume the Pieces has a flatter rocker, which may prove more challenging around town?

I noticed on your and noel salas reviews that board is irrelevant and performance 99% depends on surfer, high performance board, groveler, mid length, fish, performance looks the same
@WoolyTV
@WoolyTV 5 күн бұрын
@@cryteslx8554 I think you need to look at the subtle differences. I can feel each board has areas they perform in, wave size and conditions. You can’t compare a fish to a mid length, the lines on a wave are completely different. If you watch this review and the watch the JS Golden Child and the Slater Boss Up the surfing is nothing alike.
