From a girls perspective you honestly nailed this. The only guy i have interest for we barely communicate unless we are planning to meet up. But all these others guys i'm not interested in are messaging almost everyday. The one i have the most attraction for is the one i hear from less frequently. Its very mysterious but attractive at the same time. Ive watched all these videos saying a guy who isn't interested in you will barely text you but I don't think that's always true. My problem with texting is different and my Achilles' Heel of online dating. I'm a phenomenal writer, I do it for my career, women fall in love with me in hours with texting prior to our first date. But in the first date...I'm just Matt. I'm just an average guy, I match my pics, but in person I say "umm" and "ahh" and am less articulate, etc. They get disappointed because they built up an ideal of me I could never hope to match in person. You can easily argue this is a contributor and culprit on why most long distance relationships do not work. Personally I’m not a big fan of texting , I rather talk in person or if we can’t FaceTime. Texting may get you into hot water because it may be misinterpreted and you can’t really determine the emotions behind the texts. Also constant texting gives “Pen Pal” vibes which can suck you in the Friend Zone.

One thing i really found in texting is, that (totally equal what it is in the beginning) it's like a chewing gum, metaphorically... As you throw that thing into your mouth, it tastes delicious and is all great but as soon as you chewed it for hours and hours it's tasteless, gross and comparable to a piece of tyre... That's what happens here, as well... I just don't give in to emotional conversations via text anymore now, or at least i try hard (and it sometimes relly is..) It's way to volatile to discuss mutual future or something like that via text messages and it will soon get both unattracted as letters just don't have any mimics or expression, no matter how many Emojis you might use or not. If texting has replaced the face-to-face contact and you're caught up in it, there's nothing to do...You gotta meet up or you're ''screwed over''. I fell into this trap during the 2020 hysteria (before I read Corey's book). I met a girl online a couple weeks before Thanksgiving and really had her interest. But when it came time to set a date, she wanted to isolate before visiting family on the holiday (or so she said). Which was fine, no big deal. Except I kept texting her every couple of days because I was under the illusion of action. Needless to say her responses became shorter and she stop initiating contact all together (why bother when she knew I would?) and after the holidays she "still didn't feel comfortable meeting people right now". I embarrassed myself a little more after that before I finally got the hint. Obviously I should have pulled back, stayed the mysterious stranger she was wondering about, and then reached out to see her availability again a few days after Thanksgiving. Odds are good that she just found a guy that had more of her interest which was going to happen anyway, but once you make a fool of yourself and look needy you're not going to get a random, "Hey how have you been?" text a few months later when the previous guy screws things up. But you live and you learn.

Your analysis I think is true for much of life not just women .. over communicating is at some point annoying and seems incompetent. I’m a tech manager and if other leaders act that way, it’s not just annoying but seems incompetent and wasting my time. Same is true for employees. Men also don’t want to keep hearing from other guys. The main issue imo is new media .. in the past we couldn’t talk to someone easily and instantly , so your analysis is really about how to use instant media. In past we would see each other rarely as had to be in person and actually have stuff to say.

Agreed!!! Too much pre-dating texting can kill potential. It happened over the weekend, encountered a guy who was constantly texting and I let him know that I'm NOT a texter by nature, but I try to be fluid to some text for informational purpose. He would reply fast, that's great after I know him better, but right off - I don't know him and he doesn't know me. The only thing he knows is what he sees - the physical. This is an old post, and it’s probably already done and dusted with this guy. But in the future, you just have to be open about it. Don’t play games and start ignoring him, without giving him a chance. Remember, Corey says that men are conditioned to be like this, due to misconceptions in Hollywood and what guys are told at a young age. Most think that chasing a women shows how much they care and that they are a good guy, when in reality, it does the opposite. Be open and tell him to chill out and everything will be fine. THEN, if he continues and ignored what you’ve said and keeps being needy, then you can eventually blow him/her off, because they didn’t listen, even though you told them. By that stage, it’s out of your control. Good luck :)

I met this guy while I was out and about, and could tell he wanted to talk to me. He didn't make a move til I was about to leave and though I could tell he was a little nervous, I thought he was cute and gave him my # before he even asked. Since then, he hasn't set a definite date but texts me every.day.all.the.time. Yeah. It’s a fine balancing act. Too much attention and it puts you off. Not enough and it also puts you off. I think it’s the same between guys and girl when it comes to this. You should both have separate lives and not rely on each other’s reassurance so much. I think that’s the only way. My girl and I never text in between seeing each other, only if it’s something important. It’s also because we usually see each other every two or three days, so there’s really no point in blowing up each other’s phones with useless annoying crap.

Ha! I'm talking to guy now that does this. We meet last weekend. And we talked about music over drinks. He was really a cool guy, so my comfort level was at a 10. But my attraction to him was about a 3. Still, I was interested in getting to know him. And saw the potential. After we drove off separately, I told him to text me to let me know he got home safe (He drove the longer distance). He did and I said Great! Goodnight. He kept messaging, knowing damn well I had work the next morning. I also made it clear that I am not a morning person. And that I don't text if I'm at work. Its been 4 days now and all I hear is the chime of phone throughout the day. I only answer my phone at work if it's an emergency concerning my son. So it's annoying to look at my phone to see it's him. He picked up the tab on our date. So I'm picking up the tab on the next date just to be fair and then I'll end with "yeah...its not going to work out ......"

Because you’re being far too aloof. It has to be balanced. She has told you what she feels, she wasn’t joking “I feel like you don’t care because you don’t talk to me” she actually feels this, they’re people too and not this scary alien creature. If she says this, give her a surprise message once a week, so she knows you’re thinking about her. Something like “Hey baby, hope you’re week is going well, can’t wait to see you on (insert day)” Easy done. Now, this doesn’t mean you can start blowing up her phone because she said this. That’s not what she is saying. She just wants to feel like you care, and sending one maybe two surprise messages a week, will make her happy.
