Even knowing you’d got through safely I was holding my breath watching you going through those narrow openings, excellent driving Graham. We don’t use Sat nav, both our van & car have it built in but we prefer to read a map & plot our own route just because we enjoy doing it. We are with you Ellie, we deplore rubbish being dumped, it’s totally unnecessary & unacceptable. We missed the lovely pups in this one.

That parking spot was on Llangynidr moor, it used to be where the red dragon pizza van would park and cook amazing pizzas in their wood smoked oven. They were famous for serving Prince William and Kate, sadly the owner passed away recently.

I was there last weekend. I came from Pontypool upto the south of Crickhowell, towards Llangynidr. That way, you avoid that narrow bridge. We have also cycled all the way to the Whistle from Pontypool.

Well done Graham, that was definitely a very skilful bit of driving. Yes I've been across that moorland road, beautiful views. I spent the night in Abergavenny, the lower car park (down by the river) where you can park up over night (except on market days). Have you ever stayed there? Hi Simon. I do know where you mean in Abergavenny but no, we’ve never been there but it sounds like we ought to. The were some beautiful views across that hill but we did see a lot of rubbish around on that trip which spoils it a bit. I can’t understand the mentality of some people. Regarding the driving I don’t think I should’ve got myself in that position in the first place but the signs were a bit confusing mixed up with English and Welsh. But in the end my bad. Phew, never trust the sat nav,we had a similar experience in France recently at Sable due Sarthe, heading for a site we had been before ,but from the opposite direction, sat nag, took us through a narrow road, into the river bank road ,very narrow, then a width restriction, did manage to turn round fortunately ,but scary moment ,excellent driving Merlin
