As a kid I enjoyed 4kids and would always look forward to the next Saturday to see my favorite cartoons. Now that I'm a young adult, I cringe at alot of the stuff they've done. For instance on sonic x how they always played rouge's cringy theme *EVERYTIME* she got screentime. Also I'm not sure if you do but remember rollbots?

I still wished 4Kids have made the whole complete DVD collection of Winx Club, TMNT 2003, Sonic X, Ultimate Muscle and the rest of the series back then before it was shut down forever because release one or two DVD with a few episodes is not enough and I prefer the whole complete seasons collections.

Well Nickelodeon/Viacom( the owner of Nickelodeon) owns the rights to the TMNT franchise but not sure about the others. I know Pokémon shows and movies is own by viz media. Funimation own the rights to one piece since 2007. Yu gi oh is Konami. And not sure about others. Over all 4kids was shady but underrated and still provided the U.S audiences anime. It was the closest thing to toonami.

7:04 Perhaps the main reason as to why Pokemon's popularity may have been waning during this time was the low quality of the games and TV series during the time. Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire were some of the weakest titles in the franchise and the show had very subpar quality(Both with and without 4Kids).

This is my opinion, 4kids was not that bad then how people make it, Sure their dub on One Piece was awful, But their other dubs were always great, not perfect, but I always had a fun time with them. Besides, without them, the Pokémon anime wouldn't have come to the west

Actually they weren’t that bad at all. Actually One Piece wasn’t their decision to begin with even they didn’t wanted to, but Toei forced them to do it or else they will much big problems. And the editing the anime wasn’t their fault when it originally network restrictions laws to make it work on Saturday Morning Cartoon in America.

4KidsTV only aired one hour of E/I programming for the duration of its run, with Cubix and Magical DoReMi being the only two programs to be edited in order to adhere to this rule. Winx Club was also considered to be an E/I program for its first three seasons, and ran until the block closed in December 2008. Following the acquisition of Winx Club by Nickelodeon, the program ceased to be an E/I program, although it was later retooled to target preschoolers. While I don't like 4kids, and I think their dubs sucked, even compared to some fan dubs. If it wasn't for them I probably would have never, had found anime, even if at the time I didn't know what anime was because they never specifically stated that the shows were anime, and I never heard of anime before looking up episodes of these old shows on my first laptop I got in 2016 (Before anyone asks anything I was a 2000's kid, I was just somewhat sheltered from this information because I didn't have a proper internet connection in my home until 2015, because my family has always been somewhat poor, but I'm just glad that I have the luxuries that I do have now. I also didn't watch most of their shows on TV, I actually watched most of them through the DVD releases).

Informative, and...I only cared for the FoxBox. By the time it was assimilated into 4Kids TV, I knew it wasn't the same, and when F-Zero GP Legend got canned too soon in spring 2005, I just bailed! But, I've seen DBZ Kai on Toonzai...and it flopped! I'll always remember 4Kids for their early, caring years w/ Pokémon, Yugioh, Kirby, and F-Zero, but that's it. Also...Media Mementos did a History of 4Kids too around the same time as u did. Coincidence? Idk.

I cannot express how glad I am that people started to upload the original japanese anime episodes to KZbin back in 2007-2010. This way we could see how trash this company was in handling their license products. I am so glad that they are now dead. PS. screw 4kids I never liked it the enemies yes but the way they were talking the way they were speaking it was not right in fact it didn't make sense little kids back in the time and yeah we want to have fun and enjoy what we like to see but now that we're older we're like adults now and we realize that some of the anime didn't quite make sense like if some of you are Yu-Gi-Oh fans I searched up on KZbin and I found the original scene about the dueling monsters and how they were how they dressed I found the original and I couldn't believe my eyes that what I just saw if they ever like make an original Yu-Gi-Oh this time I want the original scene and the original words of how it is on the original one and I want the original story of how they were speaking but now that we have like Netflix Hulu and other apps maybe they can put those there and we can see the actual story but if they have it on Crunchyroll then I will check I still like some of the shows today but they're not as great anymore they're kind of boring
