That's refreshing to hear. Great actor, but there's a lot of stories of him being a jerk. A bodyguard (Jay Brody, now radio DJ) claimed he got fired because he looked Myers in the eyes, just hours after starting the job. Amy Hill (co-star on The Cat in the Hat) said he was a diva and working on the movie was a "horrible, nightmarish experience." Someone working at an airport where Myers was flying out said he was instructed beforehand to not look at Myers in the eyes. And then that feud with Dana Carvey. But Like Dana said during an interview with Howard Stern, now that they're older, they squashed the beef and became more humble.

@@opaljk4835 Like Dumb and Dumber To. Didn't need to happen. It was a for a nostalgia trip alone, and the movie sucked. All the jokes fell flat, the references were tired, dated, and completely predictable. Let alone the woke cancel culture. Austin Powers couldn't survive in today's environment. He was a lady's man, a pervert, offensive, and hilarious. I don't think Mike Myers would even be ballsy enough to do it right. I don't think he'd WANT to do it right.
@opaljk483513 күн бұрын
@ Austin Powers isn’t really all that offensive. I don’t think it would cause any more issues today than it did back then. In fact, most times I ever hear of people “canceling” stuff isn’t over adult sex comedies. I don’t even think it would register on anybody’s radar. And he’s pretty old now, and the window of doing a 70s spy film parody has probably closed in terms of cultural relevance. The people who would’ve been into it aren’t the primary demographic anymore. I was in a brutal car accident and fractured my sternum. In the hospital, I couldn't move an inch without agonizing pain. The doctor came in with the x-rays and said that in 24 years of being a doctor, he had never seen anyone break their sternum without any other major injuries. They wanted to keep me overnight, but I insisted on going home. He made a bet with me: if I could get up off the bed, put my clothes on, and walk out of the building, he wouldn't stop me. I'm sure he didn't think I could do it, but I pushed through a great deal of pain and barely managed. As I was walking out of the emergency room, I kept telling myself not to pass out. The doctor immediately regretted the bet and asked why I was in such a hurry to get home. I slowly turned around and said, "Austin Powers 2 is coming on at 9pm, and I don't want to miss it!" Btw, don't EVER watch a Mike Myers comedy when you've fractured anything in your chest!
