Question: Not being British, is the image used for this and the Advent days something significant/familiar? Characters from some kid's show? It seems like it's more than merely decorative in intent...

It's a scene of classic Pantomime characters, probably Aladddin with Nick as the Hero, Sydney as the Dame and Big Rich as the Grand Vivier/evil Wizard
