Can you believe this man had no dance experience when he was street-cast by JYP? Just goes to show how hard work and determination pay off! I also love that he had short hair for this. A lot of people were devastated when he cut it but I think it was such a statement for him to do so.

@@merequetengue2931 he was street-cast! I believe he was out with his Mom when a JYP exec approached him, admiring his visuals. He has mentioned a couple of times that other trainees would say he didn’t have to do much to debut because his looks would be enough. It pushed him to work harder, wanting to show everyone that he deserved to debut based on his talents and not on his visuals. He also attended a performing arts high school (as did Jeongin and Seungmin) and focused on contemporary dance.

@@merequetengue2931 he was shopping with his mom when a jyp scout approached him. He literally had zero experience in everything. When he got into jyp that's when he went to SOPA and took dance classes along with trainee practice. Same thing with Taeyong from NCT. Taeyong didn't even know the big 3 when he was street scouted.
