Definitely need a tick check after a ride like that. Exploring new trails is part of the fun.

You know, adventure riding is my thing! Like a box of chocolates, eat to much & eventually you get crap!!! Lol. Nothing more fun.

Reminds me of way back before we had trails, we’d ride hunting trails, hiking trails, quad trails or just no trail at all go where your bike fit between the trees. Love rides like that, you never know what you’ll find especially in Northern Ontario. Everyone and their uncle has a quad, skidoo or dirtbike and makes their own trails everywhere.

Ahhh poison ivy lol!!! I’m glad to see your making videos. I remember the Roscoe wheel change, why, bc I had the same issue.

I have done plenty of those death march type rides. Always sounds fun to explore a new trail until it isn’t. All part of trail riding. Thanks for the video. Appreciate the effort.

This was just as entertaining as bike park video lol. You should try and get a beater lawnmower and walk it through the trail. That would make for a cool video

Had this same experience about two years ago. A few trails were listed on Trailforks as multi-use green trails. Turned into some of the gnarliest slow speed tech trails I’ve ever been in. Had to get off and walk every 30 yards. Turns out it was miss labeled on Trailforks and was actually known to be a strenuous hiking trail.

yeah I'm really thinking this shouldn't' be on trail forks as a mountain bike trail

I love exploration rides myself, but none of my riding buddies do. I once did a ride on what looked to be a trail at one time. I managed to find a trail later, but I pushed and carried my bike close to 4 miles of a 14 mile "ride". It took me literally 4.5 hrs to go that distance, but I had fun regardless. Oh, there were some awesome views overlooking a valley.

I love to do the exploration rides. A good pace and an eyeball for adventure! Found some very hard trails in Brantford that way! I'll also "adventure" drive. Like where's this dirt road go, or can my wife's Ford Fusion get through this spring time, wet farm field trail. The answer to that was no. But my bike adventure rides have been great!

Now that I know about checking dates/activity on Trailforks, I'll look to do more exploration rides for sure. There's been a couple times where I've ended up running into paths that have completely grown back in and ended up leaving frustrated. 😆 All part of the fun though. As for the foliage, no matter the heat, long sleeve for sure, and mostly pants. If wearing shorts, I break out the long socks from my soccer playing days.

That was honestly 17mins of "better you than me" scenario. Thanks for the info one where NOT to ride. Still, you got through, that must stand for something.

Judging by the white markers on the trees, this is a hiking trail According to the Elgin Hiking trail map, this should go all the way down to Port Stanley

yeah it's supposed to, I think only one small section of this trail ever sees use, or so it seems

Every trail is overgrown this summer in Ontario because of the high level of rain.
