This was such a surprise in the setlist. Was expecting Descending, but happy to have gotten this. And despite its length, they didn't sacrifice anything else. Many enthusiasts and critics alike argue that "7empest" is Tool's masterpiece track due to its unparalleled complexity and artistic brilliance. Clocking in at over fifteen minutes, the song showcases the band's exceptional musical prowess and inventive songwriting. Its intricate and ever-shifting time signatures, mesmerizing guitar riffs, and thunderous drumming by Danny Carey create a hypnotic and immersive experience for listeners. Moreover, Maynard James Keenan's emotive vocals and profound lyrics add a layer of introspection and depth, exploring themes of human nature, resilience, and the perpetual struggle against inner turmoil. "7empest" is a profound testament to Tool's ability to push the boundaries of progressive metal, making it an iconic and definitive representation of their musical genius. I am one of those enthusiasts.

Worst song on Fear Inoculum by a mile - so glad we got descending instead of this.

Nah the intro slaps. the middle section could have been shortened though thats my only complaint.

@@sneezydeezymcdeluxe7015 it’s aimless and meandering. The opening is not bad, but then it’s just goes off a very boring cliff. It doesn’t have any of the drive, build and release of the other songs on the album. It’s long for the sake of it, rather than what the song called for like with the others.
