@@TheDistressedSetlist yes, listen closely. Maynard screams. It’s really only ever noticeable when they play it live. I only know because I have seen this song played twice now live and he’s done it both times. It’s in the background accompanying Danny’s cymbal crashes

I know, I was them in Chicago last month. Took my girl with me, and she never heard their music before. I told her to avoid hearing any of their songs or looming them up on KZbin. I envy her experience, because like everyone else, you're stunned in silence with what you're watching.

Say what you will about Adam, definitely not the flashiest player but that dude can write a perfect in context solo the song deserves
@johnorfanos62874 ай бұрын
Actually, Maynard does most of the writing. Adam only gets to give his, "input," which caused some controversy back in the day! Billy Howerdel is the only composer to have an equal say to Maynard, but that's in, "a perfect circle," not tool...
@Dunkelelf33 ай бұрын
@@johnorfanos6287 that's absolute rubbish dude. maynard does absolutely nothing nowadays except his lyrics. back in the day he was more involved in the writing process but he got really annoyed when he wrote stuff and they recorded some demos just for adam, danny and justin to come up with new riffs and changing them around so basically all his work was for naught. that's why now he lets them just do their thing and send him the songs once they are happy and then he writes his lyrics. the riff for descending was actually written by justin but adam had the idea to have himself play it and justin do this tripplet riff on top. so yeah. about every tool riff ever was written by adam and justin since he joined the band. and quite a lot are justins doing. he is really a genious when it comes to write those unique and awesome riffs.
