I find the flathead with the impact driver is really handy if you can get to the seized screw with a handsaw to cut your own slot, last resort tho
@JNich685 жыл бұрын
A few things I didn't see mentioned: basic screw driver sets, torx bits, compression tester, spark plug sockets, bike lift, oil filter wrench, fluid drain pan, cable or chain lube, telescoping magnet for dropped items.

"No more than a 16oz hammer", lol, I spent 2 days beating on my bike with a 10lb sledge to get a rusted swingarm bolt out.
I prefer a quality Headlamp myself. Got a couple $60 ones, and damn they're bright. And keep both hands free.

I think a video about a go bag of tools to take on your bike would be helpful to,
@thejunkman7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that is a good idea. I would have to kinda break that up into "offroad" and "street" because each discipline has its unique requirements.

if you are going to have a wrist pin puller how about a ring compressor and maybe a grease gun. 6 & 12 point sockets also make a difference and of course a good set of plain old screw drivers. just to name a few other things.
@thejunkman7 жыл бұрын
Well these are just the basics to get started with. I brought up the wrist pin puller as an example of the more specialized tools when a person gets into that stuff and your right then you would would want to get ring compressors and things as well as upgrade to 6 point sockets.
@demonrathunter7 жыл бұрын
and then a good screw driver set and a grease gun?
@thejunkman7 жыл бұрын
I mention screw drivers, grease gun, for motorcycles its not really needed.

Hearing protection? I've never heard that one. Im not promoting or pushing any brands. Most if not all werkend warrior, at home garage mechanics would do just fine with a brand like Husky when it comes to tools.

cool video, what brand is your torque wrench ? I have a Craftsman micro click and works ok but I don't like it much

I got a torque wrench that’s 10-75 foot lbs. will it be useful for my gsxr600? Or should I get a bigger one?
@thejunkman5 жыл бұрын
Yes it will for most fasteners. If you check the front of your service manual it will usually list a table with bolt sizes and torque values. Check and see how large of bolt they list and see what that value is. That means that is the largest bolt that you may have to torque if you ever disassemble something.
@giovannydelgado84055 жыл бұрын
Ok I got a clymer manual so idk if that’s good enough but I mainly just want to do my own maintenance and than maybe tackle valve adjustments, can chain, spark plugs, etc. shop times for little stuff like this is very expensive so I want to save a few hundred to invest in my bike. Thanks you for the feedback man I appreciate the fast reply
@thejunkman5 жыл бұрын
a Cylmer manual is just fine. And your torque wrench will do all you need for those types of repairs or adjustments.

I just replaced my starter & starter relay solenoid, checking wires & fuses. My 01 Kawasaki ZX9R is trying to start up whenever I touch the positive cable to the battery🤯it does it with the key in the off position, relay connected or disconnected, start switch on or off. Out of ideas, please help
@KnobleMoto5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have bypassed the starter relay. Make sure you do not have the starter relay hooked up backwards. Some are very specific a out which side comes from the battery and which side goes to the starter

I have a 1996 Yamaha VMAX. The spark plugs on the right or running rich the two spark plugs on the left or running normal what would cause this? Could it be from sitting too long on the kickstand and messing the floats up on the right side?
@thejunkman6 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the float needle valves may be leaking by and flooding those carburetors a bit. You will have to investigate further. I think your on the right track though.
