Great setup! Simple and straight to the point. You are the first small setup mobile tech who I saw carry a generator, air compressor, and a welder. My favorite ratchet was a Mac 3/8 flexhead with the hard red handle. Wish Mac still made them with that handle!
@icsivan4 жыл бұрын
I don’t know how mobile guys do it without at least a compressor and generator. I’ve seen guys carry inverters, but generator is way better. Plus it fits fine in the truck. Thanks for watching.

Great set up im trying to get a little organized myself... just a tip here but take your batteries out of the tool when you put them up in a mobile rig... I learned the hard way by having a grinder cut a hole in one of my boxes on the highway.

I do mobile repairs too dude. I have certain days at my garage, other days I travel but I work on commercial equiptment and fleet vehicles for industrial Laundry factories and I do boat motors time to time . I like the set up, nothing fancy but its everything you need .
@icsivan4 жыл бұрын
Nothing Fancy! All this Snap-On, Matco, and Cornwell stuff sure is fancy priced. Lol. The biggest jobs I do are head gaskets timing chains/ belts and transmissions/ clutches. If I can do them comfortably and without doing half ass work, I’m cool with the tools I have. All my specialty ones are mostly in my home garage along with other sets I have, but yeah I get by pretty good with my setup. So far.

Those are nice, I like the Mac flex heads with the button it has to lock in place. It’s flush with the ratchet so it doesn’t get in the way like the Snap-On.

Nice setup mine will be sort of similar to this I don’t do primarily mobile mechanic work but I have a Landscaping/Construction company and I have a need for multiple tools when out on the job site or in case of any repairs I need to make to equipment while away from home and the the 1 tool box I have now in my truck isn’t enough room so I will be buying two side tool boxes to go along with the the one I currently have now at the front, until I get enough income to get a utility body like you have now.

@ICS Ivan Do you use repair software like Prodemand or Identifix? I am currently a GM tech but thinking about going mobile. What do you do when it is raining or storming outside? Living in Louisiana we get most of our rain/ storms in the afternoon majority of the time.
@icsivan4 жыл бұрын
I use identifix, but it’s pricy for a dingle tech. Also keep great relationships with your past employers or co workers. Anytime I need diagrams, specs or any info I call my buddy/ old coworker and they have Mitchell and identifix. As for the weather, I live in San Diego, Ca, we get minimal rain. I do keep a 10ft waterproof umbrella though, helps with the rain and hot sun. I also see some techs that have canopies, but too much in my opinion.

@icsivan4 жыл бұрын
Morgan Hatfield How did you mount them, the mechanic time savers socket holder I have is magnetic and holds them in place great. The only one I have issues with sometimes is my wrench holder. But the wrenches are heavy, and it’s only the bigger ones that fall at times.
