My father, in 1996: "The music you're listening to is awful. That's no music, that's noise". Me: "OK, whatever, you don't get it. I get that..." Today, I went for diner at their place. Could not resist showing him the album, artwork and inside screen delivered in the afternoon. He told me: "put it in the player, please" Me: "are you sure?" After "Culling Voices, Descending and 7empest": My 62 years old father: "What's the name of that band again? You can make me a copy of this." Me: "Big smile on my face"... I know no one cares, but that's finally some kind of recognition of the things I love/like and this makes me happy (or happier, since I'm f.cking happy since the release of that Masterpiece) EDIT: He even asked if the drummer had more than two arms...

My girlfriend and I both absolutely love Tool and actually bonded pretty tight because of them and this is her favourite song on them album. We bought tickets to go see them in Amsterdam and decided to stop following them for months to avoid spoilers, but she kept on expressing her disappointment over the fact that they wont be playing Culling Voices because of the extra guitar track. I got it spoiled pretty early on, that Danny picks up the guitar for this at the concert.... for seven friggin months I kept this from her. I thought for SURE she'll read it somewhere by accident, but no... Great great great concert, but hands down the best part for me was when they brought chairs on the stage and Danny strolled to the front with a guitar in his hand. Looking at my girl all confused, trying to piece things together and figure out what was going on was one of the best thing I've ever seen... I know how she thinks and she figured it out before they even started playing. Never seen a person freak out like that while still trying to contain themselves. I'll never forget it. F**k, I love her...

Bless you Adam, bless you Justin, bless you Danny, bless you Maynard (if that is your real name?) 👏👏👏👏 In no particular order bless everyone! We are made of energy, everything is energy, or consciousness, perhaps one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. Yes this album is a masterpiece. I'm in my late 50's. I had a hard childhood. My father was a hard man. He passed away four years ago and to say that our relationship did not finish well is an understatement. This album and in particular this song has put into word and song, matters of my heart that I cannot express on my own. This album has been therapeutic for me and for this I am very thankful.

This song is great.. it left a little to be desired but it’s a great song. A personally feel, especially at 6:48 Maynard not having belched out an soul shattering “MEEEEEEEEE!!” Was a missed opportunity and would’ve highly elevated the song. I’m not the lyrical genius here but as a listener that would’ve blown me out of my fucking chair.

Am I the only one, who suddenly rediscovers songs from Tool's albums? Even today, 3 years later, I realized this is one of the best tracks on the album. But when I first got the album, it was Invincible. About a year and a half later, Descending took the top spot. Now I'm listening to this one constantly. Tool's music really has a depth that is unmatched by other bands I feel. Perhaps the different tracks resonate more strongly with different seasons of life. Either way, I fucking love Tool.

I agree with you Richard Levy and well said brotha. I became a Tool fan since i first listened to Undertow in 1993 as a senior in high school and saw them at Lollapalooza 93 in Miami . I have seen Tool live a few times since!!! All their albums are on a level of their own, but this one is just as incredible. I have not stopped listening to this album and everyday i find myself falling in love deeper with a different song. The maturation through the years and albums of Tool is amazing as they Tool just always has a way to take me there, and make me feel it inside like words cant describe. Thank you Tool for blessing us with such incredible work for so many years and thank you for giving me the therpay I need everytime I listen to you. Its a feeling that only listening to Pink Floyd or Tool can give me... its beyond music, its my religious experience. I flew alone to see Tool perform in Atlanta on January 28, since they werent coming to Florida originally, and then was blessed to hear that they added more dates and they are coming to Miami now on April 16. My 18 year old son has gotten into Tool since Fear Inoculom was released and now I have 14 row floor seats to see them again, and share that experience with my son for his first Tool concert. Dont worry kid, dad will be back in 3 hours when the show is over from that side!!!! I CANT WAIT!!!!! Thank you to the members Tool for the many years of taking me there!!!! Amazing work and Tool are the greatest band of all time!!!! I can go on all day!!!! Thanks for letting me share!!!

This is the most important aspect of Maynard's message from what i can gather: beware the deceiver, the psychopath. This album is a sonic ritual to banish the deceptive powers that be from ones own psyche via the breath (pneuma) and through spiritual combat (invincible). Maynard is a purple belt in brazillian jiu jitsu, so obviously invincible is also based on his experiences there, but the aspect of doing spiritual combat with deceptive individuals and institutions must not be overlooked if one is to understand the concepts and teachings of this work. From experience i know how much damage a psychopath can inflict on individuals and organizations. More than climate change or social unrest, the spectre of the dark triad personality (psychopathy, machiavelianism, narcisissm) looms over us all, keeping us in a semi-permanent state of apathy and dissillusionment.

What a incredible song. This whole album is incredible. I cannot say enough about these guys and this album. It's been a long time since I've wanted just to listen to one album over and over again because the music was so exciting and powerful. I'm 58-years-old, a passionate Led Zeppelin fan, but Tool has brought back the excitement of true Rock 'n' Roll and elevated it like I've never heard before--great stuff!

W David, While hearing this on KZbin for the first time, Maynard sings the Lyric "Over and over" just as I read your desire to play this album "over and over". Really freaked me out! I'll be 58 in 8 days. I have not bought any new music in over 15 years. I will buy this album for my Birthday next week.
