It occurs to me that from about 2:10 onward, Maynard could very easily be mistaken for someone who has never heard of dancing before, but has had it explained to them in about 3 words or less.

Well he does have to carry a 12lb guitar which if it drops it, he’s screwed since those things cost A LOT now but yeah he’s never danced like paul or Maynard or justin

I like how no one talks about the quality of this performance. It's just standart to everyone 😂 I'd call it a playback if i wouldn't know better. Blows my fucking mind. It sounds identical to the studio performance.

the first time i saw them it was 1996, and everyone i went with said the same thing when we left. "holy shit. he was like, staring right at me the entire show..." he somehow gives the entire crowd the same feeling.

Great video. Maynard's voice sounds awesome. I love who they're all crammed on that stage about 3 ft apart from each other. Man I would have loved to see them in a little shithole venue like that with show tickets for like $15.

Some of y'all don't get it...Tool IS a genre unto themselves. Nobody sounds like Tool. Like when people say I only listen to rap or country, we say we only listen to Tool. A bit of an overstretch, but you get the point. The thing about Tool is that every album, although few, is that they are so different yet distinctively Tool. Tool has zero crap albums and zero crap songs on any album. Musical geniuses they are...

Excellent comment. I've heard one song by tool on the radio, it was Stinkfist. And guess what the radio host said at the end of the song.."I have no idea what that song is about, and I don't even think I wanna know. It's Kinda wierd." fukin lady doesn't know what good music is, and how lyrically deep Tool is

@cracky6i9 Why bother trying to convert anyone? Some people will never advance beyond the "I hate rap/rap is crap" line of thinking enough to either accept or appreciate it as a legitimate art form. It's a shame that music --- and lovers of it --- is still so close-minded and segregated in the 21st century. At least in the U.S. it is.
@charliegrs14 жыл бұрын
have any of you heard maynard lately or seen him live? ok so i was probably exaggerating a little saying he "destroyed" his voice, but 15+ years of touring and screaming his brains out has not been very kind to his voice. its kinda sad, but its to be expected.

u cant compare kurt cobain with maynard ... maynard being a vocalist he has nothin to do with the guitar work and the background melody of the song.. kurt had something simple and special in his guitar playing . it was totally different from tool. 95 percent tool songs are in drop D tunings ..so they are always heavy. nirvana was something else . and no one can be like them simple as that
