@@fastmatt30 I saw the Sac show also. It was amazing! I've seen Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Megadeth, Aerosmith and many other concerts, but the Tool concert blew them all completely out of the water. No joke. The sounds and the sights were jaw-dropping.

Some of the best Tool head banging I’ve seen in a reactor. It’s a sign you actually feel it rather than just hear it. Well done 👍
@toddmccartney3342 жыл бұрын
I've been listening to them since the beginning. That being said I'm 61 and listened to ALL the best rock ever....EVER!!! I've witnessed many bands play live (lucky me) but Tool is in their own universe. No argument that's just the way it is.
@dedfishermen9852 жыл бұрын
Agreed, Tool started out heavy, went soft(not in a bad way, and not really soft either) and then evolved into something purely artistic and musically genius, Maynard and Co. saw a whole new vision of music and just killed it and still do, I don’t know who my top 5 bands are, but they are in it..Slayer is too
@danwest99002 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. I've seen huge bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth and others, but they don't come close to the Tool concert experience!

That war drum sound that Danny plays is genius.
@senorlos8 ай бұрын
Yeah it really is. I love that it’s sort of hidden or almost inaudible at first listen. Then when you actually hear it, you realize that you’ve been enveloped deep into the song. I also love how it actually continues the same rhythm of the initial timbre/tom of the song in a transformative sorta way. Absolute brilliance!

Tool is perfection. Production values great and they always give u something extra.

I can hear so much King Crimson influence in this. Most reactors go back to K.C. first album but I'd suggest early eighties with Adrian Belew & Tony Levin. Also has Bill Bruford on drums, which you just heard on Close to the Edge. I wish I could hear your mic better but the music is awesome.

I’ve been listening to tool since I was about 13 years old and I just turned 37 and honestly I get so much enjoyment out of watching Tool fans being made and then the new fans getting more and more out of each song the more they listen to them. What other band can you honestly make a case for this type of repeated listening and experience that you find something else in the same song that’s now your favorite part of it 👍🏻😎😎 BTW that look he had in the video let’s me know he’s gonna listen to this track many many times👍🏻👍🏻😆👏👏

Glad to see you getting back to Tool. Hope things are going well. Not sure if you saw, but they released Opiate2 a couple months back for the 30th anniversary. It's an extended version of the song which they re-recorded, so it's got modern production on one of the early songs. Danny has to be considered one of the all time greats at this point. As far as other current drummers, Mario Duplantier of Gojira is right there with him too. Can't remember if you've ever checked them out, but they are awesome. I'd recommend The Gift Of Guilt live at Brixton Academy to start. Would love to see you get back to some more Jinjer too. Don't think you did anything from their Wallflowers album they released last year.
