it’s like anti-ASMR. i think something about high frequency noises causes the spine to simulate that shot feeling. perhaps in this case it’s the electric hisses. their frequency tricks the mind into perceiving a physical source of the noise. of course, that’s just my theory; i’m not into music theory.

Listening to this as a child always made me confused and I thought they were higher than I was for putting stuff like this on their album. Then with time you realize how very important and necessary these interludes and preludes are. You can't just go from aenema where he's literally saying fuck all this stuff and these people to opening your third eye. There needs to be a transition of consciousness and energy to prepare you so you can be in the right state of being to experience the song. The negative energy from aenema can't be kept when trying to open your third eye and become in-tune with yourself and the world around you. Same deal with intermission, he just got done saying fuck you buddy and then to pushit which is a more personal serious matter. A shift of consciousness and energy is always timed right with tool. You're doing yourself a disservice by not listening to the whole albums front to back without skipping, without ads, no interruptions.
