The're a lot to Tool's music and Justin Chancellor's use of textures, sounds and percussively cutting tone just blow my mind. This is a great example of the potential reached when you challenge the status quo!

Honestly, i don't think i've seen a KZbinr that plays bass with such a solid and refined finger style technique. Like, it's so refined to the point where you can just feel how good it is by watching you play!

My favorite Tool song, done justice! I'm also quite impressed that you can approximate Justin's tone and attack using finger style.

Wals have a function in their EQ called “Pick Attack” that simulates the sound of using a pick even when you’re playing fingerstyle. It adds some subtle high end sizzle ( there’s like no footage of this anywhere, so it’ll be interesting to get an accurate description of what it does to the frequencies ). He could be using that, or i could just look like an ass

The tone is perfect and I like the fact that you play plucking! Usually tool covers are picking but you get the sound with your fingers. Really cool!! 10/10

What pedals and equalizer settings do you use for the main riffs? The sound reaches the original sound (solid and bright) by playing finger style. well done!

Gran trabajo Kello y un sonido brutal. Cómo consigues darle esa fuerza y crujiente al bajo? Adoro ese sonido pero no consigo lograrlo. Saludos desde España ;)
@kellogc10 жыл бұрын
Parte del sonido viene del Wal, esos bajos tienen un sonido crudo y crujiente por naturaleza. Aparte use un Tech21 VTBassDI para darle un poco mas de actitud. Al final tambien esta en el ataque, para que suene con poder.

I''m using a Wal MK1 bass. Pickups and electronics are design and custom built by them form their basses. If you get lucky you may be able to find these used online, although I'd expect the price to be high.
