This piece takes me back to working 12 hour shifts in a hospital as a services assistant. Man they were rough days. The whole ward had this shitty yellow lighting that I will never forget. Used to have TOOL on repeat to get me through the day. I spent my hours there wanting to run from the place. There's something about the hospital noises / background in this bit that blended with my predicament seamlessly. It takes me right back. I'm right there on that shitty, orange ward. Somehow now, I appreciate it.

Just heard Danny mention Tool is looking at a Fall 23' Tour and they were rehearsing Rosetta Stoned. I know I'm in the minority on this, but between LK and RS, I think it's the finest and most 'essential' music in their entire catalog. To the point where it's my absolute favorite (Yes, I know Lateralus, Opiate, Sober, Aenima, 7Empest and The Pot are most everyone's favorite)... but this was... still is... mine. Has been since I first experienced it, May 3rd 2006. You get the slow and drawn out, the cryptic and then mellow from from Lost Keys. It almost lets you get lost for 3 minutes until the dialogue kicks in. Then you get the immediate explosion from Rosetta Stoned. The dynamic time changes, the bat-shit crazy lyrics, the vocal range from entrancing and soft to piercing screams from Maynard. If anybody ever wants introduced to Tool, and you want to throw them directly into the deep end, then this is where I go to.

Ya know... In life, we find ourselves seeking purpose and a sense of some type of accomplishment. I come to realise that this is a very simply put way of thinking, and that it can break life down a little easier... But then you take out emotion, memories, hardships, and good times. Those that don't live to see another day wish they saw the sunrise the next day, but they didn't. The truth is... If you try to accomplish goals, one after the other, you tend to bring yourself down. At the end of the day, you've gotten lucky. You've lived another day. Those that don't, well. I send my respects to those who got taken too soon. None of this might make sense to anyone here, but I'll be happy to explain. In short though, don't take life as a simple thing... It's living, breathing, and full of emotion. Just like you, just like me...

People call me crazy but i absolutely love this song (if you can call it that). Reminds me of a better time. When i was with my ex who is dead now. We would lay in bed all night and talk about the mysteries of the world till the sun came up. Best time of my life. People also call me crazy but i look forward to my death. I dont want to die sooner than im suppose to or anything. But i look at my death like a girl looks at losing her virginity. You only get to do it once and i want it to be special. People want a quick death but i dont. I want a slow death so i can feel that dmt leak into my brain as i slowly fade into the universe. I esp want to die outside at night while looking at the stars holding the hand of someone i love. Thats my ideal way to go out

here the "lyrics" : Excuse me? Doctor? Do you have a moment? A moment? What's the question? More of a situation, a gentleman in exam 3. What's the problem? That is the problem, we're not sure. You got the chart? Right here. Not much here, is there? No doctor, no obvious physical trauma. Vitals are stable. Name? No sir. Did someone drop him off? Maybe we could speak to them. Let's get some background on this fella. No ID. Nothing And he won't speak to anybody. Well, let's say hello. Good Morning, I'm Dr. Lawson. How are you today? How - are - you today?! Look son, you're in a safe place. We wanna help in whatever way we can. But you need to talk to us. We can't help you otherwise. What's happened? Tell me everything.

That howling tone in the beginning reminds me of Robert Fripp's stuff he did in David Bowie's Heroes, basically set up his amp to feedback and figuring out where to stand on the floor in the studio to make it feedback different notes.

Bear with me here, I made some calculations. This album was released may 2 (month 5) of 2006. May 2 is day nr 123 of the year. 242 days remaining of the year. Fear Inoculum, the next and most recent album was released 30 aug 2019. 30 aug is day nr 234 of the year. 131 days remaining. The amount of years between the two releases is 13. The number of days is 365*13+3(3 to account for leap years)=4748 - 123 + 234 = 4859 So the number of days between the release of 10 000 Days and Fear Inoculum was exactly 4859. 4859 is very close to 5000 - of course, the half of 10 000. The difference is only 141. Remember the numbers 242 and 131 mentioned earlier. I am not exactly sure what this means, but 141 is a number that kind of stands out in mathematics. I got the following information from wikipedia: 141 is: a centered pentagonal number.[1] the sum of the sums of the divisors of the first 13 positive integers.[2] the second n to give a prime Cullen number (of the form n2n + 1).[3] an undulating number in base 10, with the previous being 131, and the next being 151. the sixth hendecagonal (11-gonal) number.[4] a semiprime: a product of two prime numbers, namely 3 and 47. Since those prime factors are Gaussian primes, this means that 141 is a Blum integer. a Hilbert prime It is also a very positive Angel Number - telling you not to worry and unfold your potential. You all know how much emphasis Tool puts on their time signatures... This might be Danny Careys scheme and have some connection to Sacred Geometry. Please let me know if you come to think of some new connections! All of this might even raise the subject of the time signature used in their songs... (not just Lateralus) But let's return to 141. There is one last thing that's kind of interesting. Pick out the 4 and you are left with 11. Tool of course made the songs 4° (released 6/4/1993 and I'm sure there are some connections but I leave it to you). The meaning of the lyrics is very close to that of the angel number... And 11 is a highly central number in the song Jimmy, seeming to hold special significance for Maynard. I quote the lyrics: "Hold your light, Eleven Lead me through each gentle step, by step By inch by loaded memory until One and one are one, eleven So glow, child, glow I'm heading back home"
