Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the Dewalt sander. My old sander just died after about 15 years of use, so I began looking for a replacement. You mentioned that you are fighting it to keep it from going out of control. This sander has the variable speeds on it, right? I thought the idea was to start it in the slower speeds and work up from there. Is that right? My last sander is so old it didn’t have that variable speed feature so I don’t have much experience with that. Thanks!

This model doesn’t have variable speed on it unfortunately. This is the DWE6421.
