The reverb isn't much of a surprise, but it also sounds like they throw a phaser over his voice sometimes, and it just gives it this ethereal, underwater quality to it. Awesome work!
@RaaZVan9911 ай бұрын
I think the phaser effect is coming from the software separating the vocals from the instrumental. This isn't the original stem

Here's how you know Tool is one of the greatest bands ever....I'm over here rocking out to vocals ONLY track to one of their songs. I can hear the music as he sings. They are just so in sync with each other, and their songs are so precisely created.

Very interesting. It's, obviously, easier to pay attention to what he's doing vocally this way. Makes it not less impressive, but definitely less complicated. Like "ok this is what Maynard is doing and then when you piece it all together with the instrumentals it sounds even better"

Fun fact: the original recording was slower, and they sped it up which gives maynard this unusually high octave.

@sterfke Жыл бұрын
do you have a source for this please ? I know the live version is tuned lower because his voice changed by age, but if i listen to this older version kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXbRkqh4i7qBsNU sounds the same to me :)

@BigTyronie Жыл бұрын
This was recorded and if you need to speed up theres no changing of pitch, youre not using 1” tape. Its recorded in D. Its played live in C so he doesnt have to hit those high 7ths(?), guessing as i dont have keys in front of me.

Live; classical music to wash away enemies. We prey on weaknesses because trends, then the true expressions emerge with the mutated mask of the cultural divides still in place, slowly peeling back. "Monsters" of politics... lacking what we're strong in, hyper powered by what we're weak in. 4th stage of grief automatic healing is all we find before we're old enough to say youth is wasted on the young. We are disconnected from the 200k years of oral knowledge passed down in African tribes, elemental Earth... Ugandan knowledge of the Tree of Life, antipodal to the dextrous reason and elemental Fire of post-migratory western settlers from the border of China, across the north of the middle east and north western Asia, Europe and all of the Americas. 4bn people of God. South Asia and the far east are mysterious to us, like women in between the extremes of the totem of Life... sensory and emotional dominant Yin-Yang expressions; gongs that can sooth a crying baby to sensory spice manifestation. Air and Water. Curved Daoism and erect Tree of Life. Outdoors people and they in the temples and shrines. Anti-serious. Pain stays in the subconscious, gongs ringing when babies are born. The 4 stages of grief is a form of forced experience... psychosis or narcissistic copium. Hear me then, now... by not looking at the big bang with intent.

I have no idea what you're talking about, Maynard's voice has been ridiculously good since their early days. Hell, the debut album has some of his most powerful vocal performances on it like "Bottom".
@NastyKugogo5 ай бұрын
@@GGSOG on Tool, yes he’s amazing, but his earlier works like Sober, he did not sing that well at that time. There is a video of him with a band singing an earlier version of sober.
