TOOL - Triad (Drum Cover)

I realized my original drum cover of Tool's "Triad" recorded live on-stage glossed over many of the awesome fills and subtleties of Danny Carey's performance of Triad on the Lateralus record, so I decided to rectify that.
I tried to get as close as I could to the performance on the original record, showcasing how much of a genius and true artist Danny Carey is. Very complex parts, but always appropriate for the music, and his style and power is simply awe inspiring! I hope you enjoy watching this drum cover as much as I enjoyed filming it.

Dude that double kick rhythm at around the 4:44 mark seems like the most difficult part of the song. Maybe I am wrong. The whole tom rhythm thing during the beginning swell could be tougher. But keeping that going under the snare and then the ride and bell hits. Man! I liked how you progressively added more force to the snare before the big fill into the next section. Well done and well recorded.

Well done! Looks and sound spot on. I foolishly committed to performing the Lateralus album in full in August and it's only really Triad I've never really learnt "properly" so this video helps immensley! Now I just need to put in the time...

Took me about a week to play it smoothly, but probably took an extra week or two from there to really settle into the feel that Danny Carey has when he plays it. Very important for the vibe of the opening groove!
