Same I bought 10,000 days not long after it came out at the same time with Opeths Ghost reveries which had also just came out and by comparison I thought 10k was boring, and too repetitive. I was not ready for it at that age, but over the years I've had revelations with this album. Always something more to teach. After you read the lyrics and experience the songs for a while, and then years later try to learn the songs on guitar or bass do you realize how innovative and creative a band like tool is. I am blown away by the complexity of the riffs in all these different time signatures, it all just went right over my head. I still love both bands and albums, still years later going back over and learning the songs from both bands, and learning new things by actually learning the music. Very rewarding. This song is amazing, as is rosseta stoned, right in two, etc. Incredible album.

@shayanmoosavi91394 жыл бұрын
There are a total of 108 time signature changes in dance of eternity. Holy shit.
@mariinito83983 жыл бұрын
@@shayanmoosavi9139 Dance of Eternity? Harder Guitar, Bass, Keyboard than any Tool song? Definitely a hard YES. Harder drums? I'll just straight up say it - NO. Just because a song has 108 time changes doesn't mean it's hard. You can feel the whole song. And it's not like Portnoy is leading the rhythm section. All he does is mimicking/following the guitar and keyboard on the drums which again makes it more easier. Something like the 3 over 4 polyrhythm from Eulogy or the 6/8 over 5/8 polymeter from Lateralus that Danny Carey does is harder cause Danny becomes (and is) the lead instrumentalist of the band and guitars and bass are following Danny instead Also I wouldn't quite put Portnoy in the "legendary" status. That dude is more showmanship than drumming. Like 90% of the fills he uses in every song is just some linear RLRLKK or some variation of that. It sounds cool to non drummers but to drummers like us, it really gets repetitive and boring
