I had 'Titles' by Mick Karn on cassette. This track 'Passion in Moisture' is an excellent example of how only Mick could make a fretless 'talk' like that.

I got into Mick Karn's stuff when Three Part Species came out. 2006? It really doesn't seem that long ago, but I guess it took me over a decade to get around to picking up The Concrete Twin and Titles. Such an expressive musician; thanks for sharing this brief look at the man behind the music.
Shoot, I saw the Ballet Rambert perform in Tokyo in 1990, never realised he was involved at a certain time!

@@Jonathan1997hk-ln4ykDS pinched MK’s girlfriend, Yuma Fujii, back in the day. That led to massive tension between the band and David and Mick stopped speaking to each other. David defended his actions by saying Mick’s behaviour was to blame and she felt unwelcome at times in her own home.

Life killed Andonis Michaelides. I'm going to miss this man's music so much. I think he'd really hit a run of form with the albums Each eye a path, More better different, Three part species and The Concrete twin. This track, Passion in moisture, sounds so modern to my ears, as does much of Titles. So talented and yet so apparently full of self doubt. Seems to so often be the way with the truly gifted.
