I attended two games in Charlotte when they had a WNBA Team. The stands were 90 percent empty and the game was very boring. I never went back and haven't watched a game since. I can't believe that despite hearing all of these negative sentiments from current/former WNBA players, I am still genuinely excited to actually follow CC's career and by proxy her team's as well. She's able to bring someone like myself, a South-East Asian that has never watched the WNBA (let alone US Women's college basketball) to be genuinely interested in this side of the sport. Hopefully the WNBA can stop shooting themselves in the foot long enough for the "CC effect" to start working on the league itself.
