Washing my hands is something I always tend to forget before tooling. There is one video where the guy tooled rose leaves with roses like you. He made them really realistic. It was a three part video on how to tool a flower or something like that.

I've tried fiebings antique and i didn't like it at all way to thick. I never cut it though. I use eco flo mahogany or dark brown. I a lot of times will use it to dye my leather mahogany. It comes out great. No top coat just gel then use resolene to finish it off. 50 50

You made a mistake with the direction of the curve when you did your veins on the leaves. Don't feel bad, many people make that same mistake. If you look at a real leaf, you will see that the veins are actually curved in the other direction. I agree with you about dyes rather than paint. But dyes will fade away... especially the lighter colored ones.

I make key fobs for a CBD store and I paint a pot leaf with Fiebings Pro green dye and if I'm careful it doesn't bleed off, looks really bitchin' after l antique it. I thin my "light" brown dye with 93% rubbing alcohol and use several coats of dye and actually get a light brown. Something I experimented with. I use only Fiebings Pro dye, nothing else for dyeing. I use the Angelus paints like you do and I top with Super Shene too. It is a great resist and top coat. Did you know Fiebings has a neutral antique you can add dye to to get the color you want to antique, but make sure you resist what you don't want dyed.

You can also mix 3-1 supersheen to acrylic paint to make colored antiques

That’s a really bad angle, you should put the camera more flush with the table so we can see what your doing
