Thanks for listening, for the stamping tool which model it could say, because there are many to give this contour effect.

I believe you're referring to the swivel knife

@attacklineleather Can you list the tools you used? Especially that backgrounder and bevelers? Where can we download that pattern?

Does that blue tape work good? I have used clear packing tape & shelf paper. The packing tape is hard to get off sometimes.
@AttackLineLeather5 жыл бұрын
I find the painters tape works best. The packing tape does leave residues

Is the leather damp, wet, or dry when you begin?
@AttackLineLeather12 күн бұрын
@@TheDrblu when i cut the leather with the swivel knife its wet. I wait till the leather starts changing color from wet to dry to begin tooling. Alot is feel. If the tooling is mushing the leather its not dry enough. Youre looking for a nice burnish to the keather when tooled

Old LEATHER SMITH here, if I may, a few suggestions, put a few drops of liquid dish soap in the water, it will absorb faster and your swivel knife will cut easier, I believe a hair blade will work better in your cross hatches, nice project, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃

How do you go about wetting your leather for tooling?
@AttackLineLeather4 жыл бұрын
I just use a spray bottle with water in it. Its has a steady mist and you can find them at tandy leather or hobby lobby

Using a certain kind of paper to transfer the skull?
@AttackLineLeather4 жыл бұрын
Its called vellum paper. I get it at Office Depot.

@@AttackLineLeather I appreciate the replies. It's my first deep dive into leather work on youtube. With as much artsy stuff I watch on KZbin, I'm surprised I haven't ran into it years ago. I'm fascinated.

Why do you tape the back side of the leather?
@AttackLineLeather5 жыл бұрын
It's so the leather doesnt stretch while you tool, and it helps with leaving a better stamp indention.
