That's all Tool songs. The Drums and Bass aren't just rhythm that supports guitar riffs and solos. They're front and center as much or more than the guitar. They're one of the greatest rock bands of all time for that very reason.

TO: MAYNARD, I recently re-posted a huge fan favorite unofficial video to "The Pot", but it was removed due to a copyright strike placed by Rico Management. The video was known to your fans as "The Snail Video" and had over 10 Million views upon first posting. My post was up less than a week and already had almost 2,500 views. What I am seeking is direct authorization from you to repost this video, or for you to repost it yourself. I will even send you the video if that's what it takes. I'm not looking for recognition. The fans love that video, and the fans (myself included) are why I reposted it. Please let me know if there is any possible way to post this video that will satisfy both the fans and yourself. Thank You

In my opinion, this the best song to introduce people to Tool with. The catchy riffs and the 4/4 time signature make it more accessible to a wider audience, but it's still got the same complexity as the rest of Tool's discography. It's a pretty straight forward rock song for the most part, but not too straightforward that it's bland or boring.

Schism I feel is a good one to start people off with. The whole lateralus albuml. No Quarter was my introduction to TOOL. I'm a big LZ fan and kept seeing people in the comment section say "check out TOOL's version", "TOOL's is better" etc etc. I finally listened to it, and loved it. Then I checked out Schism than all the rest. Right when Fear Inoculum came out. Now TOOL is one my all time favorites. It's like a darker PF. Speebs.

You look young. These guys popped up in the early/mid90s. I was a sophomore in college and recall someone spinning OPIATE -- before the song "Sober" came out and helped the band become popular. OPIATE is still my favorite of all of their albums and really captures their energy. They definitely evolved and their music became more complex and to me, they are arguably one of the most overall talented bands of all time. The guitar and bass (or vocals) don't get as much credit as deserved because Danny Carey is a fucking ROBOT. The best part? MJK was a stand-up comedian before rising to popularity as a singer. Check out some of the early episodes of MR SHOW (starring Bob Odenkirk and David Cross). =-)

10,000 Days is incredible. The groove on this track is insane. I’ve seen people say “oh the pot is just the radio song.” Who cares if it was a little more radio ready, this stuff rocks all the way to the bank. And in 2006-2007 Vicarious, The Pot, and Jambi were the best things on the radio at the time and I’ll never not think that. And yes I have a personal connection to this album but I really do believe it to be one of their very best.

BTE nevertheless/nonetheless/notwithstanding all have a similar problem, and don't get me started with todays' much/many confusion... i got mixed up in one of my own songs, the first, with 'lay' and 'lie". used them both in the two choruses when in studio. He's a happy, sober person now, with good relationships and a nice wife.

Isaías Sosa It was garbage from the getgo but they needed radio fodder. IMO, their longer songs are much better. If Fear Inoculum had zero lyrics on it, I’d have been just as happy with it. It’s hard to fit all of what they are capable of into 5 minutes and your typical intro/verse/chorus/verse/solo/outro radio formula. Sober is the only ‘radio length’ song they have that I really like but that was 1990s Tool.

This was actually the first TOOL song I had ever listened to. For a long time, the only genre I really listened to was grunge and hard rock (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, etc.) One day this song was randomly suggested to me on Spotify and I gave it a listen. It took me a while but I was able to adjust to this different sound of music I had never known and I fell in love with it. Now I’ve been listening to TOOL for a good year and have also recently discovered A Perfect Circle and let me just saw Maynard is an absolute genius. The composition and lyrics in his pieces are just so astonishing and surreal. Adam and Justin’s bass and guitar just add an amazing touch to the flow of the song while Danny’s drums just help gain a sort of importance to it while Maynard’s vocals emphasize the overall uncanny lyrics and emotions of each song and help to create a band called TOOL. TOOL has meant so much to me and has helped me with my anxiety and depression and I just wish I knew about them sooner.

"Now you're weeping shades of cozened indigo. Got lemon juice up in your eye." One of my favourite lyrics of all time. Unbelievably powerful and intelligent. It's up there with "Feeling eternal, all this pain is an illusion." Everything about The Pot is fantastic. The guitar, the drums, percussion, THAT bass, and the incredibly intelligent and profound lyrics that are bitter without coming across as bitter.

@philyates7670
@philyates7670 2 жыл бұрын
@@akeustis "Weeping shades of cozened indigo." Cozen means fake and indigo is a dark purple, the colour of bruises. So Maynard is accusing the person of wearing fake injuries. "Got lemon juice up in your eye." The cause of the weeping. But on the other hand by squeezing lemon juice into your eye you'll hurt yourself. So in a nutshell Maynard is telling the person that in wearing fake injuries to appear to be a victim, they will only inflict pain unto themselves when the truth comes out. But in true Maynard style he doesn't just come out with it, he uses this amazing example of descriptive language to convey the same message in an amazingly intelligent way. It fits in with the whole theme of The Pot. Crying Wolf. Lies. Hypocrisy.
