If you have a jewelers loupe and want a close up snap shot without cutting the plant or buying another attachment. You can hold the large 30× lens directly on top of the camera on your phone and take a photo. You can get really close up zoomed up to 100× with this method and all without trimming or buying any new equipment. Just a helpful tip.

I like bonsai scissors for lots of jobs on all kinds of plants. Lots of bonsai tools are useful. Bonsai branch cutters make a concave cut that heals better than regular scissors or garden shears and they're good for any plant. Small bonsai scissors are my favorite for trimming because they have fine points and they're made to be precise. They're like the happy hydro scissors you showed but all metal with no spring. They can be sharpened too.

For the fine trim, I find the magnifying lens lamps like you use in a workshop in conjunction with bonsai shears lets you trim very precisely. For the magnification, a USB microscope only costs $20 and you can use it right on the plant and take the photos too. And of course, humidity packs for jarring.

One tool for the main is a PVC pipe cutter($13 Home Depot), it has a ratcheting mechanism that makes it cut like butter. On Amazon($30) there is a wireless temp/humidity gauge that has 3 remote sensors plus it reads the room temp/humidity. The new Fiskers have black blades which is a non stick coating. Take a nip to look at a different place because some of the lights can make them look ripe early.

trim bins are nice or even a wide shallow tote or cardboard beer flat. good lighting, music, a great seat and good posture with frequent short breaks all help with a long day of trimming. also pre meal prep wont want to cook after 8 hrs of trimming and taking care of ur self will help with quality and quantaty of trim. most of all if its a huge job dont keep looking at how much u have to go just take managble hunks at a time helps with head space i find. good luck all.

A budget version of the sensor push are the govee monitors, they also have an app with all those features you mentioned. For the same price you can have 3-5 spots to take readings vs just the 1. They don't have VPD built in but that's the only missing thing. They seem pretty accurate, you get what you pay for of course but with more than 1 you can take averages. Working great for me.

@@robertthegrowguy7115 I built my box with plywood and 2x4 and it’s pretty much 2 feet by four feet. Very stealthy as if it mattered. Looks like an upright freezer. My carbon filter exhausts outside and two TX1000 are perfect for the size. I’ve done a small screen of green but last year, two in canvas bags. I just harvested a Cinderella 99 clone that was given to me in the spring. It’s close to cured and will be 3i oz plus. The other two TX1000 I set up over my work bench and started a bunch of seedlings in late April. They were a nice size to go outside on June 1st. I can hang a third in the box if I really want a blazing environment. If one goes tits up, it’s not a panic to get replaced. I’m not the best grower but damn, it’s fun and I produce decent herb. Edibles and infusions are my thing but still like to twist one. I’m thinking about a press but scary price. Anyway, can you tell I’ve little else to do? Cheers.

Something to note about drying with that netting method is to be careful with "cross contamination" between different plant strains. Whatever is on top will drop little bits down to what is below. I solved this by by tying a trash bag in the netting between different ones to catch anything that drops. Obviously cross contamination isn't the end of the world. But it's nice to get the most accurate and pure representation of the goods. Also, I'll put a few plates below the bottom to catch the extra bits. So between what falls into the plates, and what falls into the bag in between the layers, I get a decent little bit of shake. It's usually not much, but great for use in cooking and tinctures. . Also, I know there are more technical uses for the stems and fan leaves, but I find them to be great additions to homemade compost.

Trim jail - it’s fun for about ten minutes. My garden has eight plants, each a different strain. A couple are nine feet tall, the shortest are about six feet. The blue Dream and purple gelato will be the biggest producers for sure and each plant will take about four hours to clean up and hang. I use those cheap orange trimmers. I’ve got six of them so when they gum up, on to the next. They clean up in a sec with hand sanitizer which I just happen to have lots of these days. I’m mostly an edibles guy so I’m not as diligent at removing all the sugar leaves as some of my friends. I also don’t mind leaving a bit of stem on each bud - i figure it helps tto regulate the humidity during the cure. My local hardware store has two gallon glass Montana jars (like a huge mason) and each strain will gets its own labelled jar, each with a digital hygrometer. It makes burping so much easier! I hang until the bud is in the low 70% and then burp until mid 60% - then into 1.9 litre masons for long term storage. I give away most of my bud over the year but infuse a lot into different oils and overproof alcohol. I’ve been a big advocate of grow your own stone for over fifty years and the garden is a lot of fun. Medical has been legal here for many years but I’ve never stepped into a dispensary. Recreational is also legal by the way. Cheers everyone !

I just did this yesturday, its working fantastastic and is super efficient on electric. Just saying. Try it. I actually got my mini fridge for free. You could actually use a deep freezer or fridge this exact way. The controller has a max wattage of 1100 and if you wanted you could throw in a small fan to move the air if you wanted. So far its been keeping my mini fridge between 58 and 63. Which is fantastic. Try it !!!

I started with 12 plants and ended up with four. All the rest turned into males and were yanked out. I gave one of the four away and thus ended up with only three for my consumption. The tally from those three plants amounted to only 8.4 ounces of dried bud, which I believe will not last me a whole year, so I will be forced to purchase Feminized auto-flowering seeds this winter. Yeah, they are like $10 per seed, but I hope I will gain more vegetable matter in the final analysis. Of course we can do this in California because we can grow six plants for our own consumption. I bought a Nug Smasher three years ago and it paid for itself the first year because I make my own edibles.

Going to pick up a SP-3000 tomorrow..the discount code is timely! Going to start a 2x4 just for popping new beans and not take up space in my larger tent. Have a crop coming down this weekend and will be using most of these tools! I went ahead and dropped the coin for a trim-bin... makes trimming way more comfortable...and lots of kief collects in the bottom tray. ✌️

They have electronic scissors I seen on Amazon and I'll be buying sorta like those flat surface cutting devices but their just handheld electronic scissors. So you can cut and move the bud and the scissors too so makes it easy to trim. Without sacrificing your fingers definitely going to buy and use for harvest

@@RaviSingh-xl3os just a heads up, I cut the plant whole. I’ve done it both ways and found that if the plant is harvested in sections it dried in about 10 to 12 days… both ways still worked the best, for me. Terps were smacking

@@TheHotshot2369 you are right the turky bags do seem to cause less lose, likly a diff type of plasic. on a related note, most of the plastic vaculock containers from head shops seems to be worse than ziplocks, atleast the few i have bought. but honestly if its only for a couple weeks or so i dont think it makes a big difference.

Whats a good cure temp and humidity. If the hygrometer reads correct do you burp the mason jar anyhow. Does light effect the cure , i see people using amber jars. Thank for all your info, you have been most helpful in my first grow. 🤓

Just make sure. If your leaving a cup of rubbing alcohol around to wash your trimmers. Keep a lid on it, to prevent evaporation. And label is with big letters. So your trim team doesn't reach for it to cut their pasties.

If you know how a jeweler uses the jewelers lube it would help a lot . you put it by your face and you put your face by the plant very close. It works much better.😅

Trimless strain? Well virtually (check profile pic), although I couldn't fit the entire plant. 3/4 of the end result is genetics, but it has to be grown a specific way. It took well over a decade to breed, and stabilize
