Great stuff as always! Jeremy from build a soil gave a tip on cloning I've found very true...don't place fresh cut clones under a ton of light. Set them in a darker area for the first week or so and they don't try to keep growing..they set roots instead. They still need light..just not as much. I found it helpful. ✌

I found aloe Vera plant works great as a cloning agent I grow a couple of aloe plants in my garden just to use for cloning and sometimes I put some of the aloe gel into my cloner water I get roots as quick as 4 days strong white roots

I go straight into the soil using the same method. Aloe Vera and cloning powder mixed together. Place stalk inside the aloe Vera cutting like a placing in styrofoam. Place in dirt. Cover with plastic bag and watch the magic in 7 days in the dirt.

When using root cubes or Rockwell cube in a humidity dome. I have found better success when elevating the cubes just enough so that I can get a couple of air stones in their. I promise wherever you have a steady stream of bubbles. You will have faster and more vigorous root development.

@@Triangle0ffence3x on another side not for anyone having the worst luck with cloning. You can try the old fig leaf method; soak a Rockwell cube in a half gallon jug of water with a bit of worm castings and 1 teaspoon of Greatwhite. Then scrap the stem along the node of the limb you want to clone, but without cutting it off the plant. Just chose a branch and scrap and apply rooting gel to the area. Then wrap the presoaked Rockwell cube around the stalk and then wrap it with plastic wrap. Lastly, wrap over the plastic layer with aluminum foil to block out any light. Now leave it like this for two weeks. Afterward just cut the stem, unwrap and plant directly to soil. No need for humidity domes or trying to ease the cutting into a new environment. This method takes longer, but its 100% guaranteed to work without fail.

@@Triangle0ffence3x you don't need anything extra at all all that matters is the cloning gel being used correctly. Even a humidity dome is a waste of money. I have a 3 dollar plastic tub, plastic shot glasses and a near 100% success rate. Just dip them in clonex, put them in water and keep the lid closed for three days then let some air in twice a day. When you see some white lumps building up (3-5 days) add 2ml of AB to 1l water and the roots will pop out over night. As soon as you have even one root you're good to move to them to coir. I've left them over by the kitchen window and they still pop roots the clone domes are a money grab so is everything else.

rockwell cubes dry out too fast for me, 24 hours. I far prefer peat pucks because all I have to do is make sure they dont dry out within 3-4 days, so every 3 or so I pop the lid to refresh air. Week or 10 days later I have 100% roots. I dip and keep my clones in the cloning gel until all my cuts have been made, then i twist the clone container around 180 degrees to get to the cuts that have been sitting in it the longest. I then i take, cut by cut, and dip into rooting powder which will stick nicely to the gel covered cut. Then I squeeze half the water content from the peat puck so it's not overtly saturated, and squeeze it to form a fissue to insert the cut into so that I dont push the wound through material. 1st day full cover, crack the dome 10% every day, or what amounts to. Rockwell cubes are also not recyclable, and expensive, and take up nutritional space in your pots, can matter. Also - new growers, dont listen to the one root being good enough statements, it isnt if you arent 100% on top of your transplant game and first water after transplant. If you flood them while they arent actually ready for transplant, they will be stunted. After more than a decade, I will always wait for at least a handful of roots. I will say, as soon as you see roots, you dont need the dome, so you can just kratky your cubes/pucks in a tray full of pHd water/light solution if youre feeling keen, doesnt matter, they go into transplant in a matter of days when they are actually ready when they have sufficient roots. Too many times, ive had 7 make good roots, the 8th has one root, then i go forth and I have one 50% growth behind.

1,000 % recommend an aero cloner. I even made one out if an 18 gallon Rubbermaid tote, some pvc, spray nozzles and an old submersible pump. Roots in about 10 days on avg no gel needed.

Hey Chris..I`ve been an outdoor grower for a few years and my solution to temp swings at night is to counter sink all my pots in my garden. The soil temps stay relatively stable and allows me to get good root growth even in black nursery pots. The root zone never experiences the wide temp swings

Put one in the ground. Pots restrict them growing out side. The one in the ground will out grow anything in a pot. You will get pounds off the one in the ground.

I too experienced seedgetv's fan heater issue myself. Problem was cheaper small forced air fans have cheap thermostats. Far too large a temperature swing especially when it kicked on. My solution was to purchase a small oil filled radiant heater. No drastic swings anymore. Temps are maintained & NOT chased. hope this helps. Peace all!

I typically use fluorescence lights for veg, seeds, and cloning. However another winter solution I’ve used is using a smaller HPS light. If you have an old HPS on a tent in can raise the temp 10 degrees in the winter

Just finished a grow of gsc and my nighttime temps dropped to 46-48 with daylight temps around 75. They probably could have been bigger but they could not be more PURPLE! Stress can cause desired outcomes, sometimes.

clon5eds strt in soil and solo cups go into square plastic 3 gallon that iv drilled hundreds of holes in bottom 3 inch on and from 3 gallon into 10 gallon round plastic pots again drilled out for drainage and air prune then from 10 they go into 15 gallon when flipping to flower living soil 7-8 weeks veg and i fill mu 5x5s with 4 plants flip right away and top dress the 15 gallon week 4-5 of flower seems to work i get a nice fall like fade

Hey Chris New grower old Head here...... I have a 2x4 tent ...I have White red Led grow Lights (Full Spectrum) on the top of the tent , works great, grew a great crop .... Here's the question and thought.... I was going to try this for my next grow..... I was thinking of adding Blue ,green and red duller lights to the sides of the tent for Light penetration for underneath the Canopy . Thoughts?

I follow several channels like yours my friend,pigeons,cltv,and quite a few others.my point is on 1 of the channels I follow he recently did an auto plant,they say it's best not to disturb the roots of an auto.so my guy used an old t.p.roll,the Lil brown tube,and planted that in the center of his big pot,then planted his bean in the center of the empty roll (with media of course)the roll eventually rotted away but it served it's purpose bc he treated it like it was a small pot to begin with,not having a bottom the roots encountered no obstacle and grew into a nice size plant.like u said as it grows it's needs will as well.but when he 1st started watering the seedling it was like 200mg,it was easier to know WHERE to put said water with the Lil roll in place

If your gonna be cloning regular then spend the money on a hydroponic cloner. I bought a Klone King several years ago and have had 100% clone rate since. Easier to control temp and PH for clones.

Something I’ve always wondered is what triggers the hormones to bud is it the amount of light, darkness or both? For instance could you do 18 on 12 off? If you could I’d imagine the buds would grow bigger. Just a thought

Sorry no, the 12 hours on than 18 dark would work to keep it in flower or trigger it (not ideal/herm issues) but over 18 on and 12 off would just cause stress of the plant wanting to reveg than flower over and over producing nothing but an mutant crap unripe bud.

Yes it does, and depending on how many mains you want equals more time in veg,,,I played around with one for about 80 days but went on and flipped with the other girls that where ready ,,,today it has 8 mains with 15 branches sprouting/stretching up towards the light ,,,only the mains seem to be stacking the flowers 🌸 the branching seems to have one nice flower 🌺,,,popping outta the top ,,,but when your canopy is this level ( saying you super crop after stretching has stopped) all of em are getting the same amount of light at the same intensity

This is usually the only way I clone… I take them in week 3 flower… by time they rooted and started with the re-vegging they get 2 weeks full veg intime with the harvesting of the flower tent to start new run.. they are so much bigger and stronger than a vegged clone in my experience and been doing this for some time..

Those were great questions you chose! Right now I am about 70% monstercropping trying to keep 4 strains from the 70s and 80s going, all started from very old, saved seed. Time consuming? I'll say, those seeds were started in July and my very first one just went into jars after hanging 11 days. What's worse is all that time you tie up the valuable space that could have been used to put more bud in the bank. Also, I really won't know if what I end up with will be worth continuing to grow, till it cures for a week or two. So question whether you have the time and space before trying mostercropping, just my experience so far! I don't even have room to grow peppers right now! Come on spring so I can have my outdoor space back! Really liked your 1st episode of Unfiltered w/ Mr. Grow It! Your content just keeps getting better! You are so good for this community bro, never stop!

Hey Chris, great content as always! Quick question since you’ve had experience with the sf1000, sf2000, as well as the sf4000. I just bought a spider farmer 2x4 kit with the sf2000 light. My plan is to veg and flower 4 plants in this tent as this is my first indoor grow. My question is , in your opinion is the sf2000 enough horsepower to achieve this with good results or should I add an additional sf1000 for bloom? Or an additional sf2000 even Thanks again for all the great content -kip, Michigan USA

They changed the diode arrangement on the SF2000 to achieve a better light spread; If you have the new one with the spaced-out diodes, I'd run it in a 2x4 by itself.

Chris, I apologize for going a bit off topic. I have a 4x4 tent and run 2 Electric Sky v.3 lights. I’m in a Massachusetts basement and struggle with low humidity in the tent (30% range, lower at night). I want to put a humidifier in the tent but the number of available options is overwhelming. Could you tell me which humidifier you use in your dialed-in setup? Or, could you recommend a humidifier for someone trying to dial-in the environment? I enjoy your videos very much. My name is Chris, so ill try my best to give you an answer to your question ... If by standard garden soil you mean the soil in your yard or outdoor garden. Then i would probably advice against it because it would be just as likely that you are going to introduce pests like spider mite eggs, seedlings from grass and weeds, mold or root eating grubs, etc, etc. Generally if you have no other options and are going to try to utilize your yard microbes, try to get it around a mature plants roots fairly deep into the ground where there is less risk of running into the above mentioned pests and hopefully not cause to much damage to the plant itself. Otherwise a canister of powdered microbes is likely to have more concentration and a better variety of species then what you will find in your yard.

Omega has a very good answer. Rich garden soil helps but yes you will likely have fungus gnats. Forest soil is the best, soil mites will populate your container and eat fungus gnat larvae and most other pests and will never harm plants. Respect nature all you need is a teaspoon per container of forest soil

Question for anyone really! I have a 4x4x7 grow tent and a good carbon filter exhaust pushing out hot air from over the LED panels (200cmf) but my tent has only one tiny intake that's screened... So I installed a high cmf project fan as an intake at the screen.. but it has made the tent balloon out.. Looking up what people are saying, a lot about people worried about smell ( I am not) or if the plants are being whipped around (they are not) or the tent being hard to maintain humidity (not a problem ) I cant seem to find a good answer if there is suck thing as too much positive pressure or too much air being exchanged? I've grown outside before but this tent stuff is pretty wicked lol btw

Try 3 days of dark before flipping the plant. It burns all of the plants vegging hormones and encourages faster flowering.

I am trying my second grow after a fail and I want to keep the plant in a 6liter container for his hole life cyclus, im thinking of a water cycle of 3/4 days. Is that something that can be successful for a autoflower?

I've never had a lot of luck with propagation domes. i recently built an aeroponic cloner out of a 5g bucket and my success rate has been 100%. I literally have not lost a single clone yet with this method. aeroponic cloning is a no brainer for me.. for every seed I pop I try to clone at least 3 plants off of it just to extend my dollar.

Steller video as always Chris. The Levoit humidifier doesn’t have an option to decrease RH for a scheduled period of time. How do you balance VPD when the temperature drops, without manually adjusting the RH in the app?

I actually reached out to them early last year and suggested that they have an option to change the RH% at specific times. I just emailed them to follow up to see if they are actually going to do it or not. What I have been doing is scheduling my humidifier to turn off when the lights go off and then back on when the lights turn back on. When the lights are off and the plants transpire, that raises my RH to be within VPD range. Hope that helps.
