Love how the cheetah turned out. Great tips for using the slice tool on regular paper. I have tried it a couple times, but gave up because I wasn't getting the look I wanted but I never tried burnishing the white under the light areas.

Tysm for this video! I remember trying to look up or find what the heck was that slice tool when I first started admiring realism art. I’ve been trying to take my artistic journey more seriously lately, after 3 stressed-filled years going through college for art. I wasn’t really creating what I wanted to create so I felt less than because of my burnout and even considered that maybe art just wasn’t my thing. Your videos inspire me and I can’t wait to try these tools suggested in the video! 💛

Oh boy, weird kid stories. I have a bunch of them. One weird thing i did as a child was actually a totally normal thing to me and i didn't even know it was weird until my mom pointed it out. I had this habit of disappearing into my own world. And i'm not talking about having a vivid imagination, which i do. Whenever I was in a situation where I was bored and couldn't do anything to get out of it (like having lunch or dinner with family, especially on holidays and birthdays, where I always finished quickly but was not allowed to leave the table until the adults said so), I would choose an object to stare at for a few seconds (like a saucier or an empty food plate), then my vision would get blurry and suddenly i was in my fantasy world, in a forest with elves or on a mountain hill with dragons in the sky, etc. And there i would explore this world or watch a scene unfold. I later learned that whenever i was in that state, i wouldn't react to people talking to me, calling my name or even touching me. As a small child nobody really noticed, cause i would return back to reality fairly quickly on my own before the adults would pay attention to it. But as i got older, as a teenager, it was noticed as it happened in school during math lessons or just normal sunday lunch with my parents. If it wasn't for my father hating psychologists with all his heart, my mom would have dragged me to therapy because of it before i even hit puberty. She actually later did secretely but was told, that i just had a very vivid imagination and am the kind of person who can loose themselves in whatever i'm concentrating on, but it could also be a form of autism. Btw, when I started living on my own it became a bit problematic when it happened on public transportation, have missed my station more than once because of it.

For some reason lost to the mists of time, I always did a light or medium(depending on the subject, lighting, etc.)wash with purple before I'd start with the watercolor. So, I wonder if this technique would work on a colored pencil drawing. Of course I was a weird kid.

hello, if you burnisch with white, how can you add more layers after that? is it because you use solvent?

Is there a way to apply the technique without the splice tool?
@melissaaldosari80243 жыл бұрын
Yep, I was a weird kid and still am. I was/am crazy about all animals. At one point I wanted a dog so much all I would do was bark at people. No words ever, just barking. My Mom was a theater manager. She introduced me to a big wig from the main office one day. "Melissa, this is Mr. Wolf"... "Say hello"... Of course you can imagine what I did! "Bark, bark bark!!" My Mom was mortified! Rofl 🤣 😂 I am such an embarrassment! Lol! Yeah, I never got a dog either...

Which tier would i have to join to to see this exact tutorial in real time?
@Lachri25 күн бұрын
All of my videos are available for the $6 tier or higher. This one is 2 hours and 15 minutes long and while most (especially in the beginning where I'm showing the layering/details/blending) is in real time, when I move farther into the project where I'm just repeating the same techniques it does get sped up some. :)

Weird kid huh.....well, here’s my little story: When I was really young, I would ask my parents, sister and neighbours:”When will I have these?” , while pointing with both hands at my shoulders. No one could figure out what I meant, until one day I discovered the word I was looking for myself: Wings. Angels wings to be exact. They could have known however, because I would let myself fall down the stairs whenever I would get the chance, believing I could fly. Still believe that though, but now I understand that flying isn’t so difficult. It’s the landing I never learned.....
