I just received my cricut explore air 2...for my bd n xmas from my wonderful daughter...I've been studying on the use of the cricut, as I was planning on purchasing one after the new year. So far I made the test cut on paper but did have a hard time removing it from the mat. Then I tried w the vinyl...the weeding was unsuccessful...so I stopped n have been regrouping...and work interfered with more play...will do more this wknd...but I would like a video on successful weeding and removal from the mat...I enjoyed your video very much...most of the tutorials are so quick it is hard to keep up.. yours was just right

I have a Cricut Joy and use a paper trimmer to cut my vinyl after making my design. I like a straight clean edge on the remaining vinyl for when I use that vinyl roll again. Thanks for sharing!

Well done. Good video. I'll look up your channel as you made using the vinyl and metal leaf look so easy. I've made the Cricut card sets (1/ 2 price sale) using their new mat. I'm shocked the dollar tree version turned out great! My issue with those sets is the weight of the paper. I use 100-125 lb for card bases, which I do sell. But for keeping cards on hand for casual card giving myself, the card sets are pretty nice. I have used 100 lb cardstock to make those designs as well and love them. It works well in the card mat.

This is super helpful, even to those of us who have had difficulty Cricut machines in the past! I 100% agree with you that sharp scissors, one pair dedicated to each different material, makes an enormous difference in the quality of a finished project! I haven’t worked with the different Oracal vinyls, only their permanent version. Do they use different colors on the backing to easily identify the permanent, reusable & HT vinyls like Cricut does? I have really been enjoying your channel & I appreciate how much of your vast knowledge you share with us 🥰! Hi!! I have never tried cutting out Mylar stencils before but it looks like Cricut has a setting for Mylar. I would try that setting and selecting more pressure as well. It looks like you can use the fine point blade for it. Another setting that might work is stencil film. It depends on what thickness of the Mylar material you get. I would try some test cuts and see what setting works the best. I think I will test it out and try to make a video on it!

when ordered mine it came with the cricut pens, 2 blades, and 9 mats but yet they folded the 9 mats evenn tho there were "DO NOT FOLD" stickers on the mats but then i have flatten the mats anyways tysm for the help i just got it the other week so tysm!
