Bit late with the comment, I had the same problem with the sharpening jig. The chisel was being held slightly higher on one side, you could clearly feel the burr developing on one side first, 2 minutes with a file sorted it, may have just been uneven finish. Hope this helpd someone.

Quick note on the honing guide and the mk 1 not putting out square sharpening on chisels etc/et al. After seeing your review I indeed got that jig, and it's a fantastic jig, what lets it down is in fact the wheels. After profusely using it, specially on top of a 80 grit diamond stone the wheels not only go, but they do start bending a little on the axis of the tightening screw (ever so slightly, bit bending nonetheless), which in fact then reflects on the chisel/plane iron your sharpening. Solution? Buy $hit loads of wheels, they're fairly inexpensive and what I found now, is that I have 80 grit wheels, 400/600/1000/8000/10000 grit wheels etc, works as charm. And yes, I am ubber OCD about sharpening so I found this out pretty much straight away. Hope this helps the folk.

Way to do a review mate. No fat in the edit. I think I must be alone in have both ratchet and screw handle mft type clamps but, I always prefer the the screw type these days. I feel they grip tighter and, more importantly, they get in the way less when I'm putting the chair frames together.
@HewAndAwe7 ай бұрын
I don’t get that mate, how do they occupy any more space the ratchet clamps to the screw clamps? I can’t say I’ve used them much in a glue up of furniture as they’re to hectic with the amount of force.
@BischBaschBosch7 ай бұрын
@@HewAndAwe No, don't use em for glue ups but holding down frame parts I'm working on. I just mean the screw type are straight up and down whereas the ratchet, the levers all hamgin out one side before you tighten. That's got in the way often enough for me avoid em for that.🤷♂️

Was more meant in the comments section to be honest, so many don’t use their first name so makes it difficult to know who’s who, better still, what. It should be law, first name in the handle, then what ever garble ya like after that, would make things a bit more personal too, for replying, it’s nicer when you can use their first name, like “thank you Jenne for the complement!” instead of “yeah thanks!” I’ve never ever heard a woman, call another woman “dude!” before, that’s for sure!!! 😳
