What a wonderfully condensed summary of the process! Thank you for taking the time to share!

Hi, can I manipulate with Woodwork for Inventor, 3D models made in AutoCAD? Can I add fixtures, do nesting and CNC cutting?

Hi, if you meet the following conditions: 1. Have Autodesk Inventor 2. Have Woodwork for Inventor You can import your AutoCAD 3D model into Inventor and assign materials, add fixtures, do Nesting and CNC.

Thank you! I have some knowledge of Inventor but it's limited to mechanical design. In the mechanical design software there are tools for strength and stress analysis such as shaft design or gear design etc. Are there similar tools for woodwork design to say assess whether if a load in applied in this area, e.g. how much certain points will bend or flex? For example will the cabinet centre warp after time if there's a heavy TV standing on it - then I can add some additional feet or wheels. or perhaps a door with a glass pane will hang nicely for this design but if I scale it up and the glass becomes heavier the program could indicate that there are structural problems that may need to be resolved. I assume that most woodworkers don't necessarily know how to do these types of calculations and as someone with a mechanical background I'm uncertain of the strength rating of different joint types or perhaps wood/composite type and grain directions etc.

hi. what's the difference between inventor and fusion 360, and which one is better for interior design?
@tools4inventor5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Ivan, It depends on the complexity of your designs. If you are working with smaller designs - Fusion is easier to learn, less expensive. But it has some limitations when you are working with large or complex assemblies, need to do complex drawers etc. If it’s your case then Inventor is definitely your choice. You can find a lot of hot discussion about that on the internet :) But in you are comparing Woodwork for Inventor solution it’s definitely a winner here since it automates your workflows a lot. For instance, it allows placing joinery as you might see from this video. But this is just a fraction of all functions, Woodwork for Inventor automatically generates BOM based on your model, creates drawings and CNC and does a lot more routine tasks. You can download a trial and check it out.

Great video. The main reason I want to learn Inventor is because of your product. But in all your video it's at if you are using magic. I can never follow along and get exactly same result as you. Like using attach for ibox component. How do you get to select so many parts and planes? I can only attach one icomponent at a time. Keep up the good work. I believe you have the best tool for woodworking better than most crap out there but learning this is add. If you can put together a simplified tutorial that will be great.

Hi! First of all thanks for good words about Woodwork for Inventor! :) Now about your question - as long as we understand the problem that you face rise because there are two modes in hardware attachment command: SIngle mode and Multiple mode (little blue squares on the right). While using Single mode you can attach only one component and specify only one plane at once. If you switch to Multiple mode you'll be able to specify multiple planes for each constrain (iMate) specified in dialog box. I hope this explanation will help, and if you'll have any further questions, please let us know via forum - forum.woodworkforinventor.com or write to us - support@woodworkforinventor.com Br, Woodwork for Inventor Team

Informative video. You need to slow down and explain each step. It’s very hard to follow. I am inventor user trying to learn wood working, I can imagine if you have to inventor and woodworking in the same time? You could make this video in to 4 part series take your time in each section your trying show please. Sincerely Shawn

Have you tried to speak with Mr. Widom about possibility to get a training? Unfortunately we don't have a paid (or free) tutorials for our customers. All possible videos are accessible in our KZbin channel, therefore I think that the best solution for you would be to take a personal training.
