The year 2000 is the first year that Toon Disney has commercials,infomercials and advertising between shows. Before that it was just We’ll be right back bumper and then the promos no commercials then Back to the Show bumper.

I remember watching A Disney Halloween on Toon Disney. That music video was awesome, especially with the Disney Villains. I've seen another variant where there was the Evil Queen as the Witch (Snow White) at the Haunted Mansion and Frollo (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) at the Tower of Terror. I remember seeing the Screaming Meanies marathon. The picked villains were: Magica De Spell (DuckTales) - Saturday Negaduck (Darkwing Duck) - Sunday Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmatians: The Series) - Monday Anyone know who was the 4th picked villain was on Halloween of 2000? Never saw that. Great find.

Toon Disney was commercial-free until late 2000 and aired only promos during breaks (like the Disney Channel). Why did they start airing non-Disney commercials? That ruined Toon Disney and made it less Disney-like. (Even Disney Junior is commercial-free.) I didn't like Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network as much as the Disney Channels as a kid especially because of the commercials. Granted, that wasn't quite as bad as what happened later when Jetix was launched and I was thinking, "What happened to all the good shows?" That made it feel like a very different channel. Then Disney XD replaced Toon Disney. But at least now you can watch most of the old cartoons on Disney+. And without commercials.

Nah. 2001 was the last year that the classics aired on Toon Disney. 2001 was the last airing of A Disney Halloween. The classics like Shnookums and Meat, The Gummi Bears, and Jungle Cubs we’re taken off the air on December 30th, 2001. In 2002 they started airing solely on the Disney’s One Saturday Morning cartoons and the 90s Disney cartoons still aired at that time.
