As a student, I highly recommend Temple, that being said, the campus is getting more dangerous with people getting robbed inline at frats (not kidding, I got the TUalert for it). Its a great school academically, socially, and if your looking for that real college experience. And if you're a skater, there is a very active and chill skate community as documented in the video, however it goes way beyond just the core skaters you see there. Just be careful and stay away from broad street at night if you go.

I graduated from Temple in May of 2022. Lived right off broad and master actually. Don’t go here! Your chances of being a victim of a violent crime in Philly are about 1/9 people so good luck

@@Coop1250 First off, congratulations! And I absolutely agree. Since the time I posted that comment, so much worse stuff has happened at Temple like an off-campus house having a Molotov thrown in through a window where students were sleeping, and there is no sign of the violence stopping.

I went to school here and also worked security here for a number of years. The tour only shows a fraction of the campus. The older buildings in the video at the start on the left used to be mansions for Philadelphia's wealthy back in the 1800s. There used to be an entire row. Several that we saw in the video now makeup the Freedom Theater. I still make it down to campus several times a year for events. The new Charles Library is really fantastic and I plan on visiting. The large building where he used to get his meatball sandwiches is Alter Hall which is the home of the school of business. So of the landmark buildings the he missed included the SAC Student Center, the Liacouras Center, Mitten Hall and others. One good thing about attending and working at TU is that I did spot a few celebs visiting such as Cosby, Michael B. Jordan, Michelle Obama and yes I saw Lebron practicing bball down there one day. There is also good food to be had and lots of parties for the younger folks. As I mentioned I did also work security there. I used to tell people to always use common sense when in the big city. Philadelphia is currently going thru one of the worse crime periods that I can remember. We see Wawa and Starbucks closing stores in Center City, violence on the tourist oriented South Street and even at the July 4th fireworks. And yes, Chicago, NYC, Baltimore, Cleveland, Atlanta and elsewhere are all grappling with high levels of crime. But my concern is Phila since I live here.

There was once a school in Phila called Catto named after octavius v. catto. Located at 42nd and Ludlow. It's almost impossible to find any history on it now. Octavius v. Catto had a lot of history in Phila. and for them to drop his name all together is a disgrace for Phila.

Temple looks great compared to when i was in grad school there in early 90's. Lots of gentrification. I loved the old food trucks too, the most delicious coffee. You can get a great education at Temple for a reasonable cost, but sadly safety is a major concern. While you mentioned the random shootings, muggings, robberies and car jackings, you failed to mention the MURDERS. For this reason I would not send my son or daughter to Temple until the City of Philadelphia cleans up its act.

@jaboonpalmer43222 жыл бұрын
@@TOON215 Bruh the title can also be clickbait since you're baiting clicks with "HOOD" in all caps 💀
@TOON2152 жыл бұрын
I've explained this plenty of times. But just because i put hood ...it doesn't always need to correlate with negatively. The human mind makes what it wants of the word. What do you get when you remove the word neighbor. From the word neighborhood. You get left with hood. Little red riding hood wore a hoody....she wasnt a hoodlum 😂So over 900+ tours ago when I began documenting my home city I named my segment "Philadelphia Hoods" my original Playlist had 235 silent tours. Not only was it a uniform name for my segment. It was less text in the coverart and in the title of a youtube video your only allowed 100 characters. So why waste characters writing the word neighborhood in ever video to complete the word neighborhood. When you can just write hood and use the spade for more descriptive adjectives Regulars who have been watching my channel for years know this.viewers who just found my channel yesterday don't understand that part. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts. 🙏

Ignorant. Nothing happens on campus, it's the surrounding areas where things occur. Why? Because there is no Philly police presence in the areas surrounding the university. Temple needs to make the city do it's part. FYI, I graduated from Temple in 1999.
