Toonami promos made the Saban Dub of DBZ seem so much more intense than it actually was, closer in line with the original tone of the series before Saban had to lighten the series up to allow it to be aired in syndication. Nappa annihilates a city. The Saban Dub quickly adds a line to explain that nobody was harmed in the explosion and they all evacuated in time. Toonami just played the clip without comment.

@@Tirgo69 thats not really the dubs fault its just a tv version thing. Dbz was censored like that on every channel except adult swim, CN had it, nicktoons had it, its just a compromise thats necessary to introduce people.

stuff like this inspired me to become an engineer, which is what I am going to school for, 3 semesters left!!!. the robotics, the imagination involved in the capabilities of technology, the design and architecture of the cities in these animes. And Cartoon network got rid of this anime block. I feel bad for todays youth. It's times like these when I recollect my memories of old school Toonami. We didn't know how good we had it back then.
@Murf_Workshop7 жыл бұрын
yes I am more than aware it is back on, but the only problem with that , which I am sorry because I didn't specifically mention in my first comment, is that the Toonami premiere time is only on Saturday-Sunday at midnight hours as opposed to the daily 2-hr run at 4 - 6 pm it had from 1997-2004. which is something that many grew up with.

I remember, like it was just yesterday. Coming from school, Gundam Wing would start at 5 PM. And my brother and I would watch it religiously. I can't believe how long it has been. I don't understand how time can go by so quick. Nostalgia is truly a blessing.
@xBloodXGusherx2 жыл бұрын
This was my exact situation. Me and my brother would get home around 3 to 4 pm, run off the bus, sometimes hit the corner store up the street before going home and load up on snacks in preparation for DBZ, Gundam Wing, Sailor Moon, Ronin Warriors. It was great times to be a kid then. The early 2000's literately was the last generation of the old world before phones and social media blew up. We still played manhunt and went outside back then with all the neighborhood kids. Sometimes we didn't even watch Toonami if they were reruns. We were outside until like 8pm hanging out looking or trouble to get into lol.
