I honestly do really love how committed the voice actors (especially Masquerade's) are to their roles. They're not afraid to break their voice or sound silly in order to really sell the aggression and intensity. Maybe that's why I feel most anime dubs now sound sterile by comparison; the performances are very sterile when you put them side by side with these two dudes going all out as if they were actually in the middle of the battle themselves.

It really bugged me how alice was in the background for so much of the season. They could have made her a main character for new vestroia, showing her and masquerade learning to live with each other, potentially showing dissociative identity disorder in a functioning way. Then once they fully accept each other, hydranoid could evolve once again. So much potential for deep character development wasted

See, there's a reason why Masquerade lost as quickly as he did. Both he and Dan were equally matched, so the battle could've gone on forever. However, Dan stayed cool, calm, and collected for the entire battle while Masquerade lost his temper after the second bout.

Masquerade (マスカレード Masukaredo) was a major antagonist in the first season of the anime series. He is a Darkus brawler and a member and mastermind of The Doom Beings. He is shown as someone who manipulates others, recruiting Chan Lee, Julio, Klaus, Billy, Komba and many minor characters to destroy the Battle Brawlers. However, he turns good after Dan defeated him during their final battle in episode 38 and reveals himself to be the male-and-evil seperated personality inside Alice Gehabich. UDouch

Apparently Drago's only abilities were "Ultimate Dragonoid" and "Exceed". While on the other hand, Hydranoid has "Destroy Vanish", "Terminal Trident", "Death Trident", "Trident of Doom", "Final Demolition", and "Final Destruction". That's a 2:6 ratio.

Guys I realized watching this again that Alice is like Lanch from og dragon ball because she turns blonde when she turns into Masquerade
