You are Drew Blanc, animator of The Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun Show. Life hasn't exactly turned out the way you planned. Your boss, Mr. Schmalz, has it in for you. Your creativity has left town. Man, what a blast this game is! Never played it before, but it sure was awesome to see such an unusual point & click game which mixes animation with live-action. If they ever make the long-awaited sequel, we can hope it is done will.

I watch this as it reminds me of my grandad, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. He used to help me, as I was too little (also far too young having now watched and understood it all lol) and too slow at clicking the mouse side to side to tip the pot over with BB wolf. He had handwritten instruction as his own walkthrough. I miss him & I miss this game. Thank you for uploading and allowing me to reminisce.

Having seen other point-and-click games of this like, one thing that is immediately noticed... likely why it's one of the first things you see used, to show it off... is that stairs now seem seamless to go up and down, whereas in some games, they take forever.

I know this is an old recorded video and unlikely to be fixed, but the audio-levels are all sorts of screwed up, bouts of extreme quietness for dialog, then switch to cutscene 'movie' animation and it nearly explodes speakers if you had it up high enough to hear them whispering in game text with subtitles. Jarring with headphones on for certain.

Hey. Thanks for the feedback. Being such an old game, I think the cinematics were recorded with preset audio levels and there was no way to adjust that. I remember when recording it the exact same problem you are describing. I will definately take the dialogue comments into account for any future videos. Apologies to your ears :)

Retronauts recently did a podcast episode about Toonstruck - almost 2 hours of griping about how much it supposedly sucks, because it came out in the mid-1990s and any humor predating Z-Lennials and extreme wokeness is just "bad." Bunch of f***ing losers, I've never been disappointed in that podcast until I listened to that episode. Toonstruck isn't the greatest game ever made, but it was a solid adventure game for its time and is STILL entertaining and memorable.

The first game was supposed to be longer or have a sequel that would continue the story with Drew having to find a way to become a real human again. Part of the story would have involved Drew traveling into his own mind.

@@beepbow8444 I'm sorry but I don't recall any more. It was mentioned in an interview with the Toonstruck producer which also included a couple of concept art panels. I think some people here on KZbin talk about some of the proposed ideas. Some of the quests would have involved Drew having to steal the equipment of the henchmen to solve puzzles.

​@@TheDutchGhost Yep, this game was originally meant to be much longer, but the second half of it had to be cut at the last minute. The developers intended to release the second half of the story as "Toonstruck 2" but unfortunately, due to poor sales of the first game, it was never released, even though about 75% of it was finished. According to Richard Hare, the Lead Designer of Toonstruck - “once Drew escaped from Nefarious’s castle, he and Flux were supposed to ride a “Train of Thought” (remember the train tracks area in Zanydu?) up to an island in the sky. Here, Drew explores his own fears and fantasies within a carnival setting (there was a Wild West shootout, an encounter with Drew’s artist idol, Van Gogh, and a visit to a maniacal dentist). Finally, Drew needs to kick-start his imagination/creativity (represented by a huge lighthouse) and defeat both Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun and Nefarious in the process. If the first ToonStruck had been commercially successful, we would have used most of the content that had been cut from the first game and added in additional scenes to pad out the story. Drew Blanc would have been transformed into a “toon” at the outset of the game and would need to undo this by the end of the game. We also wanted to add in more physical-based puzzles, allowing Drew to physically push around objects in the scene and use them together to solve different problems. However, the concept of Drew being a toon in the sequel was only conceived following the revised ending and would not have been the case if the cut content had been included as the third act as originally intended." There is a small fan project trying to remaster the original Toonstruck and get Toonstruck 2 released, and the materials that we do have from the sequel are on LostMediaWiki if you want to see some videos which would have been used.
